BCCI Approves Significant Fee Hike for Women’s Domestic Cricket and Match Officials

Mumbai, Dec 2025 : In a major boost to women’s cricket in India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has approved a substantial increase in match fees for women’s domestic tournaments. The decision was taken during an online meeting of the BCCI Apex Council held on Monday and reflects the board’s continued efforts to strengthen the domestic cricket structure and reward players more equitably.

Under the revised fee structure, players featuring in senior women’s domestic tournaments will see a notable rise in earnings. For senior women’s 50-over and multi-day matches, members of the playing XI will now receive ₹50,000 per match day, while reserve players will be paid ₹25,000. This marks a significant improvement over the previous remuneration and brings greater financial security to women cricketers competing at the domestic level.

In senior women’s T20 competitions, the updated fees will stand at ₹25,000 per match for players in the playing XI and ₹12,500 for reserves. A similar hike has been extended to national-level domestic T20 tournaments across categories, with playing XI members set to earn ₹25,000 per match day and reserve players ₹12,500.

The Apex Council has also enhanced match fees for junior cricketers, underlining the importance of nurturing talent at the grassroots. In ODI-format matches, reserve players will now be paid ₹12,500. Players competing in the Under-23 and Under-19 categories will receive ₹25,000 per match. For T20 games, the playing XI will earn ₹12,500 per match, while reserve players will be paid ₹6,250.

Match officials are among the other major beneficiaries of the revised structure. Umpires and match referees officiating in domestic tournaments will receive a significant increase in remuneration. During the league stage, officials are expected to earn ₹40,000 per match day. Their fees will rise further in the knockout rounds, with daily payments ranging between ₹50,000 and ₹60,000, depending on the stage and importance of the match.

The decision to revise domestic match fees comes in the wake of the Indian women’s cricket team’s historic triumph in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, where they defeated South Africa in the final at Navi Mumbai. With the Women’s Premier League (WPL) already transforming the financial landscape for elite players, the BCCI’s move ensures that the benefits also reach domestic cricketers.

By improving earnings at the grassroots, the board aims to attract new talent, enhance competition, and create a stronger pipeline for the future of women’s cricket in India.
