Ahmedabad: Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani expressed his honor in hosting Lindy Cameron, the British High Commissioner to India, on Monday. Adani praised Cameron’s “sharp, insightful take on the ever-evolving global landscape,” describing it as “truly captivating” in a post on X. He also highlighted the inspiring moment of Cameron engaging with the second batch of Chevening-Adani AI scholarship awardees who are set to attend leading universities in the UK.
Adani noted, “The Adani Group is thrilled to support these brilliant minds as they advance AI ambitions for both India and the UK.” He had previously met Cameron in May, wishing her success in strengthening the relations between India and the UK. Adani mentioned finding it “fascinating” to learn about her experiences, which include her work in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as her insights on cybersecurity and the future of nuclear technology.
Cameron, appointed as the UK’s first female High Commissioner to India, succeeded Alex Ellis. The Adani Group is offering up to five awards for Indian students pursuing Chevening eligible degrees equivalent to a UK second-class honors degree. The group aims to promote artificial intelligence and machine learning in India, supporting future leaders to develop the AI-ML ecosystem in the country.
