BRS Slams Revanth Reddy’s Remarks, Warns Congress of Political Defeat in 2028
Hyderabad, Dec 2025 : Reacting sharply to what it described as offensive and abusive language used by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy against former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Wednesday said the people of Telangana would decisively reject the Congress party in the 2028 Assembly elections.
KTR accused the Chief Minister of indulging in diversionary tactics to deflect attention from the Congress government’s alleged failures, particularly on issues related to water rights and governance. He asserted that personal attacks and abusive language reflected political frustration and an inability to answer serious public questions.
Taking to social media platform ‘X’, KTR issued a stern warning to the ruling party. “The people are watching everything. When the time comes, they will crush you. In 2028, the people of Telangana will bury the Congress party so deep that it will not see the light of day for another hundred years,” he wrote, using strong language to convey public anger against the government.
KTR’s remarks came in response to comments made earlier in the day by CM Revanth Reddy while addressing a public meeting in Narayanpet district, where the Chief Minister launched a scathing attack on BRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao and vowed to prevent KCR and his family from returning to power.
The BRS working president alleged that the Chief Minister was resorting to abusive rhetoric because he was unable to answer questions regarding the alleged betrayal of Telangana’s water interests. He accused Revanth Reddy of being “incompetent” and “incapable” of safeguarding the state’s rights, particularly in relation to irrigation projects.
Referring to the Palamuru project, KTR alleged that the Chief Minister had failed his own district by stalling key irrigation initiatives. He claimed that instead of addressing these issues, Revanth Reddy was engaging in arrogant and misleading statements. “Your big mouth speaks with arrogance, but your actions have strangled Palamuru and betrayed Telangana’s interests,” he alleged.
KTR further accused the Chief Minister of lacking a genuine connection with Telangana’s aspirations and consciousness. In a strongly worded attack, he said that Revanth Reddy’s political conduct was marked by confusion and panic whenever confronted with facts. He also recalled past controversies involving the Chief Minister, alleging that his credibility was questionable and accusing him of indulging in political theatrics rather than responsible governance.
Meanwhile, senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao also strongly criticised the Chief Minister’s remarks, saying that personal abuse was often the last resort of failed politics. In a post on ‘X’, Harish Rao said that when arguments collapse and facts disappear, leaders resort to mudslinging to escape accountability.
“Telangana is watching this politics of abuse with clear eyes and a sharp memory,” Harish Rao said. He added that the absence of vision, lack of concrete promises, and disregard for democratic discourse were hallmarks of a bankrupt political approach. He warned that arrogance-driven politics would not be forgiven by the people and would reflect decisively in the 2028 elections.
At the Narayanpet meeting, CM Revanth Reddy had asserted that the Congress would return to power with a clear majority in the next elections and challenged the BRS leadership politically. However, BRS leaders maintained that such statements could not mask what they described as governance failures and unfulfilled promises.
The sharp exchange highlights the intensifying political confrontation in Telangana, with both parties positioning themselves aggressively as the state moves toward the next electoral cycle.
