Jaipur to Host Historic 78th Army Day Parade for the First Time
Jaipur, December 2025 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the Indian Army is a matter of pride and honour for every citizen of the country. He stated that the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the armed forces ensure the nation’s security, and the Army Day Parade is an occasion for the people of Jaipur and Rajasthan to express gratitude for the soldiers’ unwavering patriotism.
The Chief Minister highlighted that, for the first time, the Army Day Parade will be held outside a military cantonment, making Jaipur the witness to a grand and historic event. He appealed to citizens to participate in large numbers in the parade scheduled on January 15 at Mahal Road, Jagatpura, to gain deeper insight into the bravery and legacy of the Indian Army.
Sharma was chairing a review meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office on Monday regarding preparations for the 78th Army Day Parade and associated events. He directed officials to complete all necessary arrangements in a timely manner to ensure the event is organised in a grand and historic way. Instructions were issued regarding seating arrangements for guests and the public, transport, traffic and parking management, and overall security.
Around 1.5 lakh spectators daily for parade and rehearsals
Army officials informed the Chief Minister that the main parade will be held on January 15, while rehearsals will be open to the public on January 9, 11, and 13. Approximately 1.5 lakh people are expected to witness the parade each day. The Chief Minister instructed that special arrangements be made to enable school and college students, women, ex-servicemen, and the general public to attend the event, and emphasized close coordination between civil authorities and the Army.
Display of fighter aircraft, tanks, and missiles
The parade will further strengthen the bond of trust, respect, and connection between the Indian Army and civilians. The event will feature fly-pasts by fighter aircraft and helicopters, marching contingents, and displays of missiles, tanks, drone technology, and modern combat capabilities. The Nepal Army Band will also participate in the parade.
‘Shaurya Sandhya 2026’ at SMS Stadium
On the occasion of Army Day, ‘Shaurya Sandhya 2026’ will be organised at SMS Stadium on January 15, with a rehearsal scheduled for January 10. The programme will include the release of a First Day Cover, felicitation of martyrs’ families, demonstrations of traditional martial arts, and a grand light-and-sound show on ‘Operation Sindoor’, along with a 1,000-drone show using modern technology.
Additionally, the ‘Know Your Army’ exhibition will be held from January 8 to 12 at Bhawani Niketan College campus on Sikar Road, offering citizens an opportunity to closely view modern weapon systems and defence technologies of the Indian Army.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Army Commander of Sapta Shakti Command Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma, and senior officials from the state government and the Indian Army.
