State’s development to gain further momentum: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the government is committed to the comprehensive development of Madhya Pradesh and that the state is steadily progressing towards new heights. He said focused efforts are being made to ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person in society, so that no individual or section remains outside the mainstream. He emphasised that public cooperation will play a key role in advancing development initiatives. Serving people 24×7 as their servant, he added, the government’s sole goal is the welfare of all, and citizens’ prosperity and happiness are its true reward. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed an event for the inauguration and Bhoomi Poojan of development projects in Khachrod in Ujjain district on Friday.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gifted Khachrod a series of development initiatives by inaugurating and performing Bhoomi Poojan for 39 projects worth ₹78.61 crore. This included the inauguration of 16 projects costing ₹48.51 crore and Bhoomi Poojan for 23 projects with an outlay of ₹30.10 crore. He said these will give Khachrod’s development a new direction and form the foundation of its bright future.

Sandipani Schools: Sacred Temples of Education, Shaping a Brighter Future for Children

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the newly constructed Sandipani School building, built at a cost of ₹35.40 crore, and the new agricultural produce market yard complex costing ₹11.30 crore, along with several other development projects. He stated that the Sandipani School in Khachrod would emerge as a symbol of modern educational infrastructure and offer world-class education. Being developed as a sacred temple of learning, the institution will help write a new chapter in shaping the bright future of children. At the new agricultural produce market campus, facilities such as a farmers’ rest house, dining hall, water tank, and drinking water points have been developed. He also performed Bhoomi-Poojan for a new combined tehsil office building costing ₹9.10 crore, a Janpad Panchayat building costing ₹5.25 crore and works under Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM 2.0) costing ₹6.91 crore, and inaugurated 11 smart classes at the local secondary school operated by the State Education Centre.

Food Processing Park to Be Developed in Khachrod

Chief Minister announced that a food processing park will be set up in Khachrod to process the region’s abundant green peas and connect all crops to better market linkages in India and abroad, along with a new stadium. Khachrod will be connected directly to Ratlam via a four-lane road, giving it direct access to the Indore–Ujjain Metropolitan Area.

Four-Lane Highway to Be Constructed at a Cost of ₹5 Crore

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced, “A new four-lane highway costing around ₹5,000 crore will be built from Nagda to Khachrod to Jaora to Ujjain, which will drive all-around development of the region.”

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the Parvati–Kalisindh–Chambal national river-link project will provide permanent irrigation facilities to the entire Malwa–Nimar and Chambal region and that in the next five years the state’s irrigation capacity will be raised to 10 million hectares.

Will Provide New Direction and Opportunities to Farmers and Agri-Entrepreneurs

Calling 2026 the year of farmers’ welfare, he said the government’s entire focus this year will remain on farmers, with special emphasis on agro-based industries, so that farmers and agri-entrepreneurs get a new direction and opportunities. Farmers are being given a bonus of ₹175 per quintal on wheat procurement, with efforts to increase their income and transform them from annadata to urjadata by providing 3.2 million farmers with solar pumps—10 lakh pumps every year, freeing them from electricity bills and enabling irrigation, small businesses and household use, plus income by selling surplus power.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that effective steps are being taken for the welfare of the poor, farmers, youth, women and children and that every section will have a stake in building a self-reliant, developed Madhya Pradesh. He stated that poor & destitute welfare is a priority and every needy person will receive government services, facilities and support. Nagda holds a distinct identity on the global stage. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, a cultural resurgence is underway across the country and the state. Preparations are in progress for Simhastha 2028, and top-quality schools are being established across Madhya Pradesh to enhance the standard of education. As part of this initiative, Khachrod has also been gifted a new Sandipani School. Following the path of heritage conservation, the government is developing ‘Shri Krishna Pathey’ and working to transform all sites associated with Shri Krishna into major pilgrimage destinations.

Farmer Welfare Is the Top Priority

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, describing Malwa as a granary region, said that ₹3,000 crore has been distributed as compensation for crop damage due to natural calamities, and ₹1,300 crore has been paid to 6.5 lakh farmers under the Bhavantar scheme. For the PKC project, the long-pending dispute with Rajasthan was resolved and the Centre sanctioned ₹70,000 crore, with three river-linking campaigns now progressing in the state. The Ken–Betwa link will benefit 13 Bundelkhand districts, while Maa Narmada already provides ample irrigation water to Malwa–Nimar. Parts of Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Dhar, Shajapur and Ratlam districts will be included in the metropolitan area, and Khachrod will be linked to Ratlam by a four-lane road.

Khachrod MLA Dr. Tejbahadur Singh Chauhan said ₹265 crore compensation has been distributed to Ujjain district farmers for crop damage under Dr. Yadav’s leadership and that farmers are benefitting from Bhavantar on soybean sales. Two irrigation projects of about ₹1,000 crore will provide irrigation to 18,000 acres in 58 villages of the Nagda–Khachrod region. While Nagda is part of the Indore–Ujjain Metropolitan Area, Khachrod should also be included, he said, demanding a new agriculture college and additional land for the mandi. The programme was attended by Ujjain MP Shri Anil Firoziya, Rajya Sabha member Shri Umesh Nath Maharaj, MLAs Shri Satish Malviya and Shri Jitendra Pandya, Nagar Parishad President Smt. Santosh OP Gehlot, public representatives, numerous citizens and school children.
