Rajasthan Rapidly Advancing in IT Sector Under the Leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma
Jaipur, January 2026 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, Rajasthan is rapidly progressing in the fields of Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and other emerging technologies. Over the past two years, the state government has introduced four new policies aimed at creating a robust ecosystem for sectors such as AI, Big Data Analytics, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Extended Reality. Strengthening digital and data infrastructure, the government is set to organize the Rajasthan DigiFest TiE Global Summit–2026 from January 4 to 6.
Contributing to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Digital India Mission, the Rajasthan Global Capability Center Policy–2025, Rajasthan AVGC-XR Policy–2024, Rajasthan Data Center Policy–2025, and Rajasthan AI-ML Policy–2026 have been introduced to establish the state as an IT-ITeS hub. These policies are expected to generate skilled employment opportunities and further accelerate economic growth.
World-Class Data Center Ecosystem
The Bhamashah Data Center in Jaipur is an 800-rack, state-of-the-art Tier-4 data center and the largest government-owned data center in the country. Considering the growing importance of data usage and storage, the state is now encouraging private investment in data centers. The Rajasthan Data Center Policy–2025 aims to develop a world-class data center ecosystem, making Rajasthan a leading hub in this sector. The policy provides incentives such as asset creation support, sunrise incentives for early investors, interest subsidies, exemptions in transmission and wheeling charges, flexible land payment options, and concessions in stamp duty and electricity charges.
Jaipur as a GCC Hub
Due to its proximity to the National Capital Region, strong connectivity, availability of quality commercial spaces, skilled IT professionals, lower setup costs, and a business-friendly environment, Jaipur has the potential to emerge as a major hub for Global Capability Centers (GCCs). The Rajasthan Global Capability Center Policy–2025 targets the establishment of over 200 GCCs by 2030, creation of 1.5 lakh jobs, and a significant contribution to India’s USD 100-billion GCC market.
Support for Animation, Gaming, and Comics
To promote local talent in animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, and extended reality, the Rajasthan AVGC-XR Policy–2024 provides production grants for animation films, games, and comics produced in the state. Additional incentives will be offered to startups focusing on local culture and content creation. Innovation will be encouraged through Atal Innovation Studios and accelerators equipped with coding, VFX labs, and advanced computing facilities.
AI-ML Policy to Strengthen E-Governance
The Rajasthan AI-ML Policy–2026 aims to position the state as an emerging center for investment and innovation. It focuses on responsible, ethical, and secure use of AI and machine learning to enhance public service delivery, making governance faster, more transparent, and citizen-centric. The policy also emphasizes data security, reducing bias in AI systems, and establishing an Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence.
Notably, through initiatives like iStart Rajasthan, over 7,200 startups have been registered so far, attracting investments exceeding ₹1,000 crore and generating more than 42,500 jobs—marking a new chapter in Rajasthan’s technological progress.
