Inter-Caste Marriage Incentive Scheme Transforms the Lives of Abhishek and Babita, Taking a Strong Step Towards Social Harmony
Raipur, January 2026 : The Inter-Caste Marriage Incentive Scheme run by the government is emerging as a real instrument of social change by promoting social harmony, equality, and the elimination of caste-based discrimination. In this context, the story of a young couple from Korba district—Abhishek Adile and Babita Devangan—conveys a powerful message of hope and positive transformation in society.
Abhishek Adile, a resident of Adile Chowk, Old Basti in Korba, belongs to the Scheduled Caste community. Babita Devangan, a 20-year-old resident of village Choriya in Saragaon tehsil of Janjgir–Champa district, belongs to the Other Backward Classes community. Overcoming social barriers, the couple entered into an inter-caste marriage. Both families accepted and respected the relationship, setting an exemplary model for society.
Under the incentive scheme jointly implemented by the Central and State Governments to encourage inter-caste marriages, the couple was sanctioned a total incentive amount of ₹2.50 lakh. Out of this, ₹1.00 lakh has already been credited to the couple’s joint bank account by the Assistant Commissioner, Tribal Development Department, Korba. The remaining ₹1.50 lakh has been invested as a three-year fixed deposit, keeping in view their secure and prosperous future. This financial assistance has played a significant role in easing the beginning of their new life and in helping them become self-reliant and empowered.
Both the Central Government and the Chhattisgarh State Government are continuously working to strengthen social harmony, eradicate caste discrimination, and guide youth away from orthodox mindsets toward the path of equality. This scheme is making an important contribution toward building a more sensitive, united, and progressive society. It is not merely financial assistance, but also a strong message of social unity that reinforces the values of love, respect, and equality.
The initiative taken by Abhishek and Babita is not just a marriage, but the foundation of social transformation. They have proved that with trust and courage, the walls of caste dissolve on their own, and human values become the true identity of society. The support received through the government scheme has made their new journey secure and stable, while their mutual understanding and determination make this story even more inspiring.
Married for the past four years, the success of Abhishek and Babita clearly shows that government schemes become truly meaningful when people adopt them and move forward in a positive direction.
