‘Sanjeevani’ for the sick, over Rs 700 crores disbursed through CM’s Discretionary Fund

Lucknow : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has emerged as a guardian for patients battling severe illnesses across Uttar Pradesh, providing critical financial support through the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Fund. This fund has become a lifeline, or ‘Sanjeevani,’ for those suffering from life-threatening conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and the need for kidney or liver transplants.

Focusing on ten districts spanning from Paschimanchal to Vindhyachal, CM Yogi has consistently offered a helping hand to those in dire need. Since taking office, he has extended financial aid to 36,199 patients in districts including Ambedkar Nagar, Ayodhya, Aligarh, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Muzaffar Nagar, Moradabad, and Mainpuri.

From April 1, 2017, to August 13, 2024, over Rs 7,01,27,50,931 have been disbursed for medical treatment, ensuring that families no longer have to endure the ordeal of seeking help from door to door.

This dedicated effort has not only brought relief to these ten districts but has also set a precedent across the entire state, affirming that no one battling severe illness should be left without hope or necessary medical care.

The Chief Minister is committed to ensuring that no individual in Uttar Pradesh is denied medical treatment due to financial constraints.

He consistently emphasizes this point during public forums, Janata Darshan events, and meetings with senior officials, asserting that the government has ample resources to address the needs of the economically weaker sections of society. His words are not mere promises but are substantiated by the data released by the government, particularly in ten key districts.

The district-wise data highlights the extent of CM Yogi’s support for patients across the state. In Ambedkar Nagar, 2,834 beneficiaries received Rs 45,71,16,354, while in Ayodhya, 3,611 beneficiaries were provided with Rs 61,61,84,829. Aligarh saw Rs 10,56,26,663 distributed to 524 patients, and in Kanpur city, 12,053 individuals benefited from Rs 2,53,98,94,471. Ghaziabad’s 473 beneficiaries received Rs 15,59,99,167, and Prayagraj’s 12,585 beneficiaries were aided with Rs 2,40,10,20,940. Mirzapur saw 2,508 beneficiaries receive Rs 41,92,41,997, Muzaffar Nagar’s 254 beneficiaries were granted Rs 6,40,34,373, Moradabad’s 381 beneficiaries received Rs 8,94,19,339, and Mainpuri’s 976 beneficiaries were provided with Rs 16,42,12,798.

In total, CM Yogi has facilitated the release of Rs 7,01,27,50,931 crores to 36,199 individuals across these ten districts through the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Fund.
