Meeting Held To Discuss Arrangements For The Visit Of The Chief Election Commissioner Of India To Mizoram

Aizawl, January 2026: A meeting was held yesterday afternoon at the Chief Secretary’s Conference Hall, MINECO, under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Pu Khilli Ram Meena, to review and discuss arrangements for the upcoming visit of the Chief Election Commissioner of India, Pu Gyanesh Kumar, to Mizoram from January 9 to January 11.

The meeting was chaired by the Chief Secretary, while the Chief Electoral Officer of Mizoram, Pu Lalrozama, briefed the members on the preparations already underway. He informed the gathering that arrangements for the reception and programme schedule of the Chief Election Commissioner had been finalised.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed the plans already drawn up by the office of the Chief Election Commissioner and deliberated on further steps required for effective implementation. Discussions covered security arrangements, travel and accommodation, movement schedules, meetings with election-related stakeholders, and arrangements for interaction with the media.

The meeting was attended by Tourism Commissioner and Secretary Pu Vanlaldina Fanai; GAD Secretary Pi Zodingpuii; Home Department Secretary Pu Vanlalmawia; IPR&PS Secretary Pi Betsy Zothanpari; DIGP (HQ) Pu C. Lalnunmawia; Deputy Commissioner, Aizawl Pu Lalhriatpuia; Superintendent of Police, Aizawl Pu Zosangliana; SP (Security) Pu K. Lalremsanga; Joint Chief Electoral Officer Pi Ethel Rothangpuii; State Protocol Officer and Joint Secretary, P&HW Pu Lalmuansanga Ralte, along with other senior officials.
