Pre-Budget Consultation Meeting

New Delhi, January 2026: A Pre-Budget Consultation meeting with States and Union Territories, chaired by Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman, was held in New Delhi. Representing the Mizoram Government, Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana attended the meeting.

The Pre-Budget Consultation Meeting is held every year with States and Union Territories ahead of the presentation of the Union Budget. On this occasion, discussions were held in advance of the Union Budget 2026–27, which is scheduled to be presented on February 1, 2026. Representatives of the States and Union Territories shared their priorities, concerns, and expectations regarding the forthcoming budget.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary; Governors, including the Governor of Manipur; Chief Ministers of Delhi, Goa, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Meghalaya, and Sikkim; Deputy Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, and Telangana; as well as Finance Ministers of various States and Union Territories.

Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana was accompanied by Deputy Secretary of the Finance Department, Pu Rosiamliana.
