Unique Celebration of ‘Live Painting’ and Artistic Kite-Making at Maharashtra Sadan

Initiative by ‘Fine Line Art Academy’; Delhi Residents Enthralled by the Artistic Display

New Delhi, Jan 2026 : A spectacular display of art was witnessed at the New Maharashtra Sadan on Kasturba Gandhi Marg, Delhi, during the ‘Hurda Party and Makar Sankranti Festival’ held on January 10. Inaugurated by renowned Marathi film actor Bharat Jadhav, the highlight of the event was the ‘Live Painting’ and ‘Artistic Kite-Making’ initiative, which saw the participation of over 100 budding artists and students, leaving the Delhi audience mesmerized.

This unique program was conceptualized by Ashish Deshmukh and Snehal Deshmukh of the Fine Line Art Academy. The event stood out for its innovative approach, celebrating the spirit of Makar Sankranti. Participating artists created elegant kites from blank A3 sheets and adorned them using a free-hand technique, without any thematic constraints. Remarkably, each artist conveyed a social message through their artwork, ensuring that the display was not just visually striking but also meaningful.

The academy provided all participating artists with canvas, colors, and brushes free of cost. The atmosphere of Maharashtra Sadan was filled with the aroma of freshly roasted hurda on one side and the vibrant hues of rural Maharashtra coming alive on canvases on the other. Artists captured scenes from village life and various aspects of the kite festival with their brushes, bringing them vividly to life. Citizens of all age groups, from children to seniors, enthusiastically participated in and appreciated the event.

Resident Commissioner and Secretary R. Vimala praised Ashish Deshmukh, Snehal Deshmukh, and their entire team for the successful organization of the initiative and extended her best wishes. On this occasion, the Fine Line Art Academy presented the Resident Commissioner with a beautifully framed painting of Lord Ganesha as a token of appreciation.

This imaginative festival brought the essence of Maharashtra—its soil, culture, and artistic heritage—alive in the heart of Delhi, garnering widespread appreciation across all sections of society.
