Budget Dialogue with Women Representatives Highlights Empowerment as Key to Rajasthan’s Development
Jaipur, January 2026: Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma stated that educated and empowered women are catalysts for positive change in society. Progress in the state is possible only when women advance alongside development. He emphasized that the state government is committed to integrating every woman into the mainstream of growth, ensuring that the active participation of half the population contributes to building a developed and exemplary Rajasthan.
Shri Sharma was speaking at a pre-budget dialogue with women representatives at the Chief Minister’s Office on Tuesday. He said that women’s empowerment is the foundation for self-reliant families, communities, and ultimately a self-reliant Rajasthan. Therefore, women’s empowerment has been made the central focus of government policies and programs. He assured that suggestions from women representatives would be incorporated as far as possible in the 2026–27 budget.
Highlighting national progress, the CM said that under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership, daughters across India are excelling in every field. The Prime Minister emphasizes the holistic development of women, youth, farmers, and the poor, as it is essential for national growth. The state government is engaging with all sections of society to incorporate their suggestions into policies, thus contributing to the vision of a developed India.
Focus on Women’s Respect, Safety, and Empowerment
Shri Sharma said the state government is continuously working to ensure women’s respect, safety, and empowerment. Under the Lado Incentive Scheme, the benefit amount has been increased from ₹1 lakh to ₹1.5 lakh, benefiting 460,000 girls. Similarly, under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, the amount has been raised to ₹6,500, benefiting nearly 1 million pregnant women.
Through the Maa Voucher Scheme, pregnant women across the state are provided free sonography services, with 226,000 women having already availed of this facility. Additionally, nutrition for severely malnourished children at Anganwadi centers has been increased from 15 grams to 25 grams of milk per packet. Rural women are also being supported economically, with a ₹5 per liter subsidy provided to dairy producers.
Shri Sharma added that over 1.9 million women have received training, creating over 1.2 million “Lakhpati Didis” (women millionaires), and many are now progressing toward becoming “Millenier Didis.” He also noted a 12% reduction in crimes during the current government’s tenure compared to the last two years of the previous government (February 2022 to December 2023).
During the session, women representatives appreciated the Chief Minister’s decisions and efforts regarding women’s empowerment programs and shared suggestions on self-employment, skill development, women’s safety, education, and health.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Principal Secretary (Finance) Shri Vaibhav Galaria, Principal Secretary (Women & Child Development) Shri Bhawani Singh Detha, senior officials, and a large number of women representatives.
