Shares MP’s Achievements, Innovations and Development Initiatives

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday and invited him to perform the Bhoomi-Poojan of the capacity expansion project of the Super Thermal Power Station at Gadarwara in Narsinghpur district. The Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister on the organisation of the Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit, the decision to observe 2026 as ‘Krishak Kalyan Varsh’ in the state, the progress of the National Dairy Development Board–Sanchi cooperative agreement, and the status of the anti-Naxal campaign in Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that the NTPC Limited Super Thermal Power Station is located at Gadarwara in Narsinghpur district. The Ministry of Power, Government of India, has approved a capacity expansion of 1,600 MW (Stage II: 2×800 MW) at a total cost of ₹20,446 crore.

The project is targeted for completion by 2029–30. It is based on advanced ultra-supercritical technology and incorporates air-cooled condenser technology, which reduces water consumption by nearly one-third compared to conventional water-cooled condenser systems with cooling towers.

Year 2026 to be Observed as Krishak Kalyan Varsh

The Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister that the Madhya Pradesh Government is observing 2026 as “Krishak Kalyan Year” with the objective of achieving “Prosperous Farmers, Prosperous State.” He noted that 2025 was celebrated as “Industry and Employment Year” in the state.

A comprehensive calendar of programmes and activities has been prepared for the period from January 2026 to November 2026, with clearly defined three-year targets. More than 16 departments will participate in these initiatives. Under ‘Krishak Kalyan Varsh 2026’, the government’s 10 key resolutions include promotion of natural & organic farming, establishment of food parks and food processing units in perishable crop regions, provision of subsidies to encourage agri-industries, and increased farmer participation in agricultural industries.

The state government is also working towards achieving the target of installing solar pumps in the fields of 30 lakh farmers over the next three years.

Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that the “Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit” was organised on December 25, 2025, in Gwalior, on the occasion of the 101st birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The summit was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

During the summit, collective bhoomi-pujan of industrial and manufacturing units worth over ₹8 lakh crore was performed, and industrial development projects and road works worth ₹5,810 crore were inaugurated. Investment promotion assistance of ₹725 crore was disbursed to 860 large industrial units across the state through a single-click mechanism.

Growth in Milk Production in Madhya Pradesh

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that following the cooperation agreement between the National Dairy Development Board and Sanchi, milk procurement prices by dairy unions have increased by ₹2.50 to ₹8.50 per liter. A total of 1,394 new milk cooperative societies have been formed, and 661 inactive societies have been revived, including around 150 multipurpose cooperative societies. Milk procurement reached 12 lakh kilograms per day on December 22, 2025, marking a 25 per cent increase over the previous year. The state has set a target of achieving 50 lakh kilograms per day milk procurement and expanding dairy cooperative coverage to 26,000 villages.

`Naxal-Free Madhya Pradesh

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed the Prime Minister that Madhya Pradesh has achieved the goal of becoming “Naxal-Free”, in line with the target set for eliminating the Naxal problem by March 2026. He stated that there are now no armed and active Naxals not only in Madhya Pradesh but also in the Madhya Pradesh–Maharashtra–Chhattisgarh (MMC) zone.

In 2025, security forces neutralised 10 armed Naxals carrying a total reward of ₹1.46 crore, while 13 Naxals surrendered along with weapons. Intensive interrogation of surrendered Naxals is underway to gather information about supporters, organisations and funding networks, and hidden caches of cash and arms are being recovered.

To ensure they do not return to extremist ideology, focused rehabilitation efforts are being undertaken. For rapid development in Naxal-affected areas, micro development plans have been prepared for the 100 most-affected villages, covering comprehensive village development, livelihood enhancement and improvement of basic facilities.

To bring youth from formerly Naxal-affected areas into the mainstream, large-scale sports competitions are being organised in Balaghat, on the lines of the Bastar Olympics.
