Complete eradication of Naxalites is comparable to achieving Impossible: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the complete elimination of Naxalites from the state was akin to making the impossible possible. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed satisfaction over this significant achievement. The Chief Minister congratulated police officers for their role in eliminating Naxalism from the state, stating that while policing involves numerous challenges, the police force remains steadfast in its duty with enthusiasm and commitment at all times. He said all police personnel deserve appreciation, and described their discipline as commendable and exemplary. 

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the year 2025 has been marked by major achievements for the state government. Anti-national forces are being eliminated at the grassroots by the Madhya Pradesh Police, and there is no place for organised crime in the state. He added that the police have been achieving continuous success in the anti-drug campaign, and that the government and police are moving forward together with renewed experience and resolve. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that strengthening the spirit of patriotism and public service remains the collective goal of establishing Madhya Pradesh as a model state for internal security.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the IPS Service Meet on Friday at Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium. He was welcomed by Director General of Police Kailash Makwana and IPS Association President Chanchal Shekhar, who presented him with a bouquet and a sapling. The Chief Minister took the ceremonial salute at the venue and posed for a group photograph with IPS officers. The DGP and the IPS Association President also presented a memento to the Chief Minister.

Police Play a Vital Role in Strengthening Democracy and Law & Order

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the police play a crucial role in strengthening democracy and maintaining law and order. He announced that approvals for promotions in the police force would be granted soon, along with adequate recruitment in the department. The Chief Minister said that the Madhya Pradesh Police has set an exemplary benchmark for the country in implementing new criminal laws. Effective action is being taken against cybercrime, organised gangs and criminals of all kinds. Due to police vigilance and swift action, no anti-national force has been allowed to take root in the state.

Referring to the warnings issued by Prime Minister Shri Modi regarding the nexus between terrorism and crime, the Chief Minister said that traditional approaches must be changed and efforts must be undertaken on a larger scale. He stated that the year 2026 presents an opportunity to define the direction of future policing. The state should move forward with the resolve to provide society with a police system that is technologically adept, swift in decision-making, and more sensitive toward the public.

CM’s Guidance and Swift Decisions Were Crucial in Making the State Naxal-Free: DGP Shri Makwana

Director General of Police Kailash Makwana said that the Chief Minister’s guidance and timely decisions played a decisive role in making Madhya Pradesh Naxal-free. He termed the martyrdom of Police Inspector Ashish Sharma during Naxal operations as deeply unfortunate, and said that on the Chief Minister’s initiative, the martyr’s family was provided financial assistance of ₹1 crore and his younger brother was appointed as a Sub-Inspector. The DGP said the implementation of the Dial-112 scheme within six months and the enforcement of new criminal laws were among the major achievements of 2025. Preparations are underway under the Chief Minister’s leadership to strengthen resources and fill vacant posts. He added that the Madhya Pradesh Police is continuously strengthening its capabilities to effectively tackle the challenge of cybercrime. 

Simhastha, Road Safety and Cyber Capacity Building Among Police Priorities

DGP Makwana informed that Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah will launch a nationwide campaign from April 1, 2026, to make the country free from narcotics, with a three-year target set to achieve a drug-free India. He said the police campaign against the drug mafia will continue relentlessly. To raise awareness about drug abuse, the state successfully ran the ‘Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori’ campaign in 2025. He further said that activities are being conducted in coordination with the Heartfulness organisation to manage stress and improve the mental well-being of police personnel. Simhastha-2028, road safety, and cyber capacity development remain among the top priorities of the police force.
