ILP Checked for Non-Local Residents within Lunglei Town
Lunglei, January 2026: Following instructions issued by the Home Department of the Mizoram Government, an Inspection Team constituted by the Lunglei District Administration conducted verification of Inner Line Permits (ILP) of non-local residents within the jurisdiction of the Lunglei Municipal Council (LMC). The team was led by Sub-Deputy Commissioner (i/c ILP) Mr. H. Lalthlengliana.
The Inspection Team formed by the Lunglei District Administration had the Sub-Deputy Commissioner (i/c ILP) as the Team Leader, the Lunglei Sub-Divisional Police Officer as the Assistant Leader, and the President of the Young Mizo Association (YMA), Lunglei Sub-Headquarters, as a Member. The team was divided into two groups and carried out ILP checks in different localities under the LMC area.
During the inspection, around 20 persons were found without valid ILPs. They were informed to renew their ILPs as per rules and to present themselves before the concerned authorities. The district administration stated that ILP inspections in Lunglei District will continue as and when required.
