Sawai Madhopur Foundation Day Celebrations — Folk Art and Traditions Shine at Cultural Evening

Jaipur, January 2026 : On Sunday, the Dussehra Ground at the Sawai Madhopur district headquarters witnessed a captivating display of the state’s rich folk cultural expressions. The occasion was the cultural evening organized during the Amrud (Guava) Festival to mark the Sawai Madhopur Foundation Day. Folk artists from different regions of Rajasthan presented traditional music and dance in such an enchanting manner that the audience swayed along with their performances.

The programme, organized by the district administration and the Tourism Department, was graced by Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena as the chief guest. He said that such events play an important role in preserving folk culture and connecting the younger generation with their cultural heritage.

District Collector Kana Ram and Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar Beniwal inaugurated the folk performances by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The event was attended by prominent citizens of the city, public representatives, officials from various departments, and a large number of tourists, art lovers, and members of the general public.

During the cultural evening, artists gave splendid performances of Chari dance, Kachhi Ghodi dance accompanied by the Algoza, and the Kalbeliya dance.
