Kejriwal Scores Major Victory in Two ED Cases

January 2026 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has won a major legal victory in two Enforcement Directorate (ED) cases. The ED had accused Kejriwal of violating summons in an alleged liquor scam. Kejriwal had consistently maintained that the cases were politically motivated and the summons were illegal. On Thursday, the Rouse Avenue Court acquitted him in both cases, marking a significant triumph for the AAP leader. Responding to the verdict, Kejriwal said, “Satyamev Jayate” — truth alone triumphs.

The judgment was delivered by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Paras Dalal, who dismissed both complaints filed by the ED and cleared Kejriwal of all charges.

Following the verdict, AAP leaders launched a sharp attack on the BJP, accusing it of using central agencies as political tools. Punjab in-charge and former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said, “No matter how much one tries to suppress the truth, it always comes out. Satyamev Jayate.” Senior leader and former Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain added, “Truth prevails. There may be delays, but there is no darkness in God’s house.”

AAP MP Sanjay Singh stated that the BJP’s attempts to falsely entrap Kejriwal through ED and CBI were exposed, calling the court order a slap on the Modi government’s face. Former Delhi CM and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Atishi, said that the court again validated the truth, exposing all BJP-led conspiracies. She asserted, “Arvind Kejriwal is a staunchly honest leader and always will be.”

AAP National Media Head Anurag Dhandha criticized the BJP, stating, “Kejriwal has been proven right, ED and BJP wrong. The ED summons were politically motivated and used as a weapon by the BJP. They owe an apology to the nation for their lowly actions.”

Other leaders, including Sanjeev Jha, Priyanka Kakkar, and Jarnail Singh, highlighted that the summons and arrest attempts were illegal, politically motivated, and intended to defame Kejriwal to gain control of Delhi. Priyanka Kakkar emphasized that the verdict reaffirms Kejriwal’s integrity and the honesty of every AAP leader. She noted that earlier, the PMLA Court and Supreme Court had both granted bail, citing insufficient evidence.

The leaders criticized the BJP for creating false cases to undermine governance, claiming that Delhi’s administration suffered under the BJP over the past 10–11 months, and the party could not compete with Kejriwal’s effective governance. They also raised questions about the accountability of central agencies, whose misuse forced Delhi residents to face administrative and law-and-order challenges.
