Suryakiran Team Paints a Picture of a Strong India in Nashik’s Skies

Nashik Aerobatic Show 2026; Indian Air Force Displays Leave Nashik Enthralled

Nashik, Jan 2026 : The skies over the Gangapur Dam area in Nashik turned into a breathtaking spectacle this afternoon as the Indian Air Force’s Suryakiran Aerobatic Team delivered an unforgettable air show. It felt as if a rainbow had been painted across the sky, leaving residents mesmerized. During the performance, the team filled the sky with shades of saffron, white, and green, creating a vivid reflection of a strong and vibrant India. The area resonated with patriotic chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.” Concluding their final maneuver, the Suryakiran Team once again expressed gratitude to the people of Nashik for their overwhelming response.

Organized jointly by the Indian Air Force and the district administration under the Nashik Festival as part of the District Planning Committee’s District Development Plan, the two-day aerobatic show was held this afternoon at the Gangapur Dam premises. Several dignitaries were present on the occasion, including School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse, Food and Drug Administration Minister Narhari Zirwal, MLA Dilip Bankar, Guardian Secretary of the district Eknath Dawale, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Praveen Gedam, Kumbh Mela Authority Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Municipal Commissioner Manisha Khatri, District Collector Ayush Prasad, Ashima Mittal (Jalna), Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Omkar Pawar, Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil, Additional District Collectors Devdatt Kekane and Hemangi Patil, Assistant District Collectors Arpita Thube and Kashmira Sankhye, District Planning Officer Vijay Shinde, District Sainik Welfare Officer Lt. Colonel Vilas Sonawane (Retd.), Olympian Dattu Bhokanal, Resident Deputy Collector Rohitkumar Rajput, along with senior officers from the armed forces and various departments of the district administration.

A large number of citizens gathered around the dam area to witness the aerobatic show. The Suryakiran Team thrilled spectators with breathtaking aerial maneuvers. Indian Air Force pilots Squadron Leaders Tejeshwar Singh, Lalit Verma, Rahul Singh, Edward Prince, Vishnu, Ankit Vashisht, Sanjay Singh, along with Wing Commander Jasbir Singh and Abhimanyu Tyagi, performed spectacular stunts using Hawk 132 aircraft. The team created formations such as the English letter ‘Y’, MiG aircraft shapes, arrows, and symbols of love, dedicating the performance to the people of Nashik. Prior to the show, a patriotic atmosphere was created through nationalistic songs, with the police band performing several patriotic tunes. The live commentary of the aerobatic display was provided by Flight Lieutenant Kaval Sandhu.

Extensive arrangements were made by various departments of the district administration to ensure the success of the event. Facilities such as drinking water, refreshments, sanitation, and healthcare were provided for attendees. The District Disaster Management Authority deployed disaster mitigation teams, volunteers, life jackets, throw bags, and other essential equipment, while disaster management teams patrolled the Gangapur Dam area. Before the main event, athletes led by Olympic rower Dattu Bhokanal also showcased rowing demonstrations at the dam.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Dadaji Bhuse said the district administration’s planning for such a visually stunning aerobatic show was commendable. He noted that such initiatives inspire youth with a sense of patriotism and motivate them to join the armed forces. He also described the event as a preparatory step toward the upcoming Kumbh Mela to be held next year.

Minister Narhari Zirwal stated that such an event was being organized in Nashik for the first time and that it would enhance the city’s prestige and elevate Nashik’s reputation at a broader level.
