Chief Secretary Inspects Cyber Police Station During Bharatpur Visit

Jaipur, Oct 2026 : Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas arrived in Bharatpur on Sunday on a two-day visit. He was accorded a guard of honour on his arrival at the Bharatpur Circuit House. IG Dr Preeti Chandra, District Collector Qamar Chaudhary and District Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Meena welcomed him.

Enhance technical capabilities to prevent and promptly resolve cybercrime

The Chief Secretary inspected the Cyber Police Station at the district headquarters with the objective of ensuring effective control over cybercrime and providing prompt relief to victims. He said technological capabilities, rapid response and better coordination among various agencies were essential to prevent cybercrime and ensure its effective investigation.

In view of the changing nature of cybercrime, he said the police system should be continuously strengthened through modern technology and innovation.

Srinivas reviewed the structure of the Cyber Crime Cell, available technological resources, functioning of the 1930 helpline and the process followed for resolving complaints. He directed officials to further strengthen the cybercrime control system and make it more technologically capable.

The Chief Secretary also reviewed the status of pending cybercrime cases in the divisional districts. He directed IG Dr Preeti Chandra to ensure that success stories related to the effective resolution of cybercrime cases were shared with newspapers and other media organisations as well as on police social media platforms. This, he said, would help increase public awareness about cybercrime.

Details of registered cases reviewed

Srinivas reviewed details of cases registered at the Cyber Crime Police Station and directed officials to ensure systematic maintenance of necessary offline documents along with online reporting in all cases.

He stressed the need to provide personnel with adequate resources and better training for the effective disposal of cybercrime complaints.

The Chief Secretary reviewed every stage of the process, from the registration of a cybercrime complaint to the filing of an FIR and subsequent investigation. Officials briefed him on the procedure followed after receiving a cybercrime complaint, including registration, preliminary investigation, collection and analysis of digital evidence, examination of banking transactions, necessary action against suspicious bank accounts, tracking of the money trail and measures taken to provide assistance to victims.

Better coordination with banking institutions

The Chief Secretary directed officials to analyse the time taken between receiving information about a cybercrime and blocking the concerned bank accounts so that victims could receive relief at the earliest.

He emphasised the need for effective coordination with banks and other concerned agencies to prevent cybercrime and ensure speedy disposal of cases.

Srinivas said that effective control over cybercrime required a coordinated response at every stage, from receiving a complaint and securing the money involved to taking further necessary action.
