New Delhi, September 2026 : Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta on Thursday inaugurated a free mega health check-up camp at the Ayurvedic Hospital in Haiderpur, in the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency, under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’. The camp is providing residents with a range of health check-ups, medical consultations and necessary health guidance at one place. The Chief Minister appealed to Delhi residents to make use of the free health camp and get themselves examined and seek necessary advice from the team of specialist doctors.
CM Rekha Gupta said healthy citizens are the foundation of a strong Delhi. The government’s effort is to ensure that healthcare services are not limited to hospitals but are brought closer to citizens, so that timely check-ups, identification of illnesses and appropriate medical advice are available. Ensuring the health and well-being of citizens is a priority for the government. The mega health check-up camp organised under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ is an important initiative towards bringing public service closer to citizens and providing timely health check-ups and medical consultations.
‘Providing better housing to slum residents is our responsibility’
During the programme, the Chief Minister also interacted with slum residents of the area and gave a clear assurance on their concerns regarding housing. She said not a single jhuggi in the area would be demolished. The government is working to provide better housing to people who have been living in difficult conditions for years. The Delhi government is committed to fulfilling Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s resolve to provide better housing to poor families.
She said that, in the first phase, the tender process for construction of housing for residents of the jhuggis in AU Block and AO Block in Haiderpur has already begun. Suitable sites around these areas will be identified and housing will be constructed there. In the second phase, the jhuggis around the Ayurvedic Hospital area will be included, and suitable land is being looked for nearby so that better housing can be provided to residents close to their present area.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the government’s aim is not to remove people but to improve their lives. Referring to various development works being carried out in the area, she said facilities such as new toilets, water ATMs for clean drinking water, Atal Canteens, new sewer lines, water pipelines and street lights are being provided to improve people’s lives. To widen the road, old structures and garbage bins are being removed, and new toilets and garbage bins are being constructed.
New school up to Class 12 to come up in Haiderpur
The Chief Minister said there had been a long-standing need for a large school up to Class 12 in the Haiderpur area. Children had to travel to other areas for education and documentation-related requirements. Around 5,000 square yards of land has been made available for construction of the new school, and the tender process is being prepared. She said children in the area would, in the coming days, have access to a better and modern school close to their homes.
Area to get all basic amenities
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said a tender has also been issued for the construction of a new community centre in the area. Once completed, local residents will be able to use it for weddings and other social functions. Work is also underway to construct a new Chhath ghat along the canal in the area, which will provide better facilities to local residents during the Chhath festival. She said the new Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Haiderpur is making healthcare services more accessible to local residents. Going forward, work will also be undertaken to develop a ‘Nirog Dham’ in the area, where efforts will be made to provide healthcare facilities based on both Ayurvedic and allopathic systems. The Chief Minister also said the government is working to take forward and complete the long-pending construction of the hospital in the area.

The Chief Minister said all development works being undertaken by the government are aimed at securing a better future for people and making their lives more convenient. “It is my responsibility to ensure that not a single person in my Delhi faces hardship. It is my responsibility to ensure that no one in Delhi faces difficulties and that no poor person has to suffer,” she said. She told citizens that they did not need to worry and that the government stood with them through their joys and difficulties. She assured them that the Delhi government would continue to work with priority given to the needs and facilities of the poor, those in need and the common people.
