Patna, Aug 2026 : Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday inspected the proposed site for the Maa Thawe Medical College and Hospital in Chanave village of Thawe block in Gopalganj district. He reviewed various aspects related to the proposed project and issued necessary directions to officials.
The proposed medical college and hospital is expected to significantly improve healthcare facilities for people in Gopalganj and neighbouring areas and create new healthcare infrastructure in the region. It will also reduce the need for people to travel outside the district for treatment of serious illnesses.
During the inspection, officials briefed the Chief Minister about the proposed construction on 25 acres and 20 decimals of land through a site map. They provided details regarding the availability of the site, basic infrastructure, access roads, land status and other aspects related to the project.
Chief Minister Choudhary directed officials to complete all necessary procedures related to the construction of the Maa Thawe Medical College and Hospital at the earliest and ensure that the project progresses in a time-bound manner.
He said the establishment of the medical college and hospital would provide better healthcare facilities not only to the people of Gopalganj but also to residents of surrounding areas. The project will strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the region and enable patients suffering from serious diseases to receive treatment closer to home, eliminating the need to travel outside the district.
The Chief Minister emphasised the importance of expediting the project so that its benefits can reach the people at the earliest.
During the inspection, Food Supply and Consumer Protection Minister Ashok Choudhary, Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari, Rural Works Minister Sunil Kumar, Legislative Council member Janak Ram and other public representatives were present.
Senior officials attending the inspection included Chief Minister's Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department Anand Kishore, Chief Minister's Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh, Health Department Secretary Kumar Ravi, Saran Divisional Commissioner Dr Manish Kumar, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Saran Range, Nilesh Kumar, Gopalganj District Magistrate Sameer Saurabh and Superintendent of Police Vinay Tiwari, along with other senior officials and dignitaries.
