Target to connect 80 lakh people in Rajasthan with the campaign
Jaipur, September 2026 : Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas said that drug abuse is a curse for society and affects every section, both directly and indirectly. He said that the Central and State Governments are working together at every level to build a Drug-Free India.
Shri Srinivas was chairing a meeting held at the Government Secretariat on Friday regarding the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. He informed that to mark the completion of six years of the National Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, various programmes will be organised across the country for one month. In Rajasthan, a target has been set to connect 80 lakh people with the campaign.
The Chief Secretary directed the Secretaries of the concerned departments and District Collectors to complete all necessary preparations on time for the successful implementation of the campaign and ensure compliance with the guidelines received from the Central Government regarding the campaign. He said that people who have overcome drug addiction should also be associated with the campaign. Their experiences can help raise awareness in society about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
Additional Chief Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Shri Dinesh Kumar informed that through the campaign, which has been underway since 2020, awareness has so far been created among 1,35,46,605 people across all districts of the State. In addition, 3,735 Nasha Mukti Mitras have been registered, who are assisting people affected by drug abuse.
He informed that various awareness activities will be organised during the campaign and people will also be administered the pledge for a drug-free life. Photographs of the programmes will also be uploaded along with their geo-tagging.
Additional Chief Secretary, Skill, Entrepreneurship and Employment Department, Shri Sandeep Verma, Additional Chief Secretary, Higher and Technical Education Department, Shri Kuldeep Ranka, along with other relevant officers, were present at the meeting. The concerned District Collectors joined the meeting through video conference.
