Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that work to expand essential facilities for students in schools across the state is continuing. He appreciated IT-based innovations and directed that such initiatives be continued. He also called for stakeholder support to strengthen school infrastructure in the interest of students. The Chief Minister directed officials to continuously work towards improving all arrangements in schools and complete the required works through focused campaigns. He stressed giving priority to completing new construction works in schools.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav issued these directions during a review meeting on strengthening infrastructure, maintenance and operational systems in government schools, held on Thursday at Samatva Bhawan, Chief Minister’s Residence.
Maximise Use of Technology to Simplify Management
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said maximum use of technology can simplify various management processes. All districts should therefore remain proactive in this direction. As required, new information technology tools such as SIPRI software can be used to obtain information about drinking water sources and water levels in an area. Such information can help expedite various works.
E-Attendance System Producing Better Results
The meeting was informed that implementation of the e-Attendance system across the state has yielded good results. The online AI-powered system for teachers through the ‘Hamare Shikshak’ App is also being studied by other states. After making e-Attendance mandatory for employees, the attendance rate has reached 95 per cent. The system has also helped ensure teaching as per the prescribed minimum teaching hours. Madhya Pradesh is implementing the Right to Education Act effectively. Under the Swachh and Green School Programme, two schools from Madhya Pradesh—the Government Model Higher Secondary School in Jaora, Ratlam district, and Government Kamla Nehru Higher Secondary School in Bhopal—have received awards from the Government of India.
₹696 Crore Paid Online as Scholarships
Under the Integrated Scholarship Scheme, nearly 1.25 crore student beneficiaries have received benefits during the last two years. The School Education Department, acting as the nodal department, has transferred the scholarship amount directly into students’ bank accounts through an online process via the Education Portal. A total of ₹696 crore has been provided to students during the last two years.
District Collectors to Coordinate and Supervise
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed that a detailed, school-wise infrastructure development plan be prepared at the district level. Infrastructure, repair and maintenance works in school buildings should be undertaken using available budgets across various departments. He said local bodies should ensure cleanliness, drinking water facilities and functional toilets in schools, while support from industries and investors can be sought to improve school facilities. The Chief Minister said the District Collector will be responsible for coordination and supervision to ensure these arrangements.
Alumni Meets to Support School Development
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav called for organising alumni meets as an innovative initiative in school education. He said many former students can contribute to the development of their former educational institutions.
The meeting was informed that support for infrastructure development is being mobilised through CSR, District Mineral Foundation (DMF), MP and MLA funds, local institutions, public participation and other alternative sources. Chief Secretary Shri Ashok Barnwal, Additional Chief Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office Shri Neeraj Mandloi and senior officials were present at the meeting.
