Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Participates in ‘Aangan Milan’ Programme in Khatima

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday participated in the ‘Aangan Milan’ programme organised at the Anganwadi Centre in Gosikua Bhudai, Khatima. During the programme, the Chief Minister held an affectionate interaction with children, pregnant women, mothers, Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers and gathered information about the government’s public welfare schemes and services.

On reaching the Anganwadi Centre, the Chief Minister showered affection on the young children and interacted with them to understand their thoughts and feelings. He served food to the children with his own hands and spent time sitting with them in an affectionate manner. On the occasion, the Chief Minister participated in the God Bharai ceremony and blessed pregnant women. He distributed kits containing nutritious food items to 10 pregnant women and also provided Mahalakshmi kits to 10 beneficiaries. The Chief Minister personally performed the Annaprashan ceremony of five young children. He also honoured nine Anganwadi workers and two ASHA workers on the occasion.

During the programme, the Chief Minister also planted a sapling as a symbol of prosperity and greenery.

‘Prime Minister Modi’s 25-Year Journey in Public Life Is Inspiring’

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed 25 years of public life as Chief Minister and Prime Minister. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken several important decisions for the welfare of all sections of society and in the national interest.

He said that the work, dedication and spirit of service of Prime Minister Modi as a Karmayogi and practitioner are an inspiration for the people of the country.

‘Aangan Milan’ Is a Medium to Take Service, Affection and Dialogue to Every Home

The Chief Minister said that the ‘Aangan Milan’ programme is a medium to take service, affection and dialogue to every person and every household. Such programmes are being organised across the state.

He said Anganwadi centres are not merely centres for providing nutrition to children, but are also important centres that lay the foundation for children’s healthy future, values, early education and all-round development.

Praising Anganwadi workers, the Chief Minister said they are playing an important role not only in caring for and providing nutrition to children, but also in ensuring that the benefits of various public welfare schemes of the government reach eligible people.

He said the service and dedication of Anganwadi workers are exemplary for society. Sharing his personal experience, the Chief Minister said that his own children had also studied at the Anganwadi Centre located in Nagla Tarai.

‘Health and Nutrition of Mothers and Children Among Government’s Top Priorities’

The Chief Minister said that the health and nutrition of mothers and children are among the top priorities of the state government. Through several schemes, including the Mahalakshmi Kit Scheme, nutrition schemes and the Chief Minister’s Women Nutrition Scheme, necessary assistance and nutrition are being provided to mothers and children.

He said arrangements are being made for birth waiting homes to provide safe delivery facilities to pregnant women from difficult and remote areas. If required, pregnant women are also being provided helicopter ambulance facilities. Through the Janani Shishu Suraksha Programme, necessary health services are being provided to pregnant women and newborn children.

The Chief Minister said that financial assistance is being provided to pregnant and lactating women through the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana so that they can receive necessary nutrition and healthcare facilities.

He said early childhood is an extremely important stage of life. If children receive nutritious food, proper care, early education and good values during this period, a strong foundation can be laid for their healthy and empowered future.

‘Ensuring No Child Remains Malnourished Is the Government’s Uncompromising Resolve’

The Chief Minister said that the responsibility for children’s nutrition and healthy future is not only that of the government, but a collective responsibility of the entire society.

The government’s effort is to make Anganwadi centres centres for good nutrition, better health, early education, values and all-round development of children.

He said Anganwadi workers are playing an important role in taking government schemes to the grassroots and shaping the future of children. Paying tribute to their spirit of service and dedication, the Chief Minister said that when the government, society and families together take responsibility for the health and nutrition of mothers and children, the foundation of a healthy and empowered Uttarakhand becomes even stronger.

The Chief Minister said that the state government’s uncompromising resolve is to ensure that no child in Uttarakhand remains malnourished and that every child gets a healthy, safe and value-based environment.
