Hamirpur, Oct 2026 : The Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission has declared the result of the computer-based screening test for the recruitment of Junior Engineer (JE) Civil trainees under Post Code 26016. Of the 6,726 candidates who appeared for the examination, 372 have been shortlisted for document verification. The recruitment drive aims to fill 149 Junior Engineer (Civil) posts.
The result has been published on the commission’s official website. Shortlisted candidates will now have to complete the document verification process, which is scheduled to begin on October 15. Commission Secretary Dr Vikram Mahajan said candidates should carefully follow the instructions issued by the commission and check their individual verification schedules before making arrangements to attend.
According to the secretary, a total of 8,192 candidates had applied for the posts. Of these, 6,726 appeared for the computer-based screening test, while 1,466 applicants did not appear. The declared result has shortlisted 372 candidates for the next stage of the recruitment process.
The recruitment is being conducted under Post Code 26016 to fill Junior Engineer Civil positions on a trainee basis. Candidates can access the result through the commission’s website and should verify their selection details against the relevant post code and recruitment notification.
Shortlisting Does Not Guarantee Appointment
The commission’s announcement marks the completion of the screening-test stage for the shortlisted candidates. However, being shortlisted for document verification should not be treated as confirmation of final selection or appointment.
With 372 candidates called for document verification against 149 available posts, candidates must successfully complete the subsequent formalities and satisfy the prescribed eligibility requirements. The verification stage will allow the commission to examine the documents and claims submitted by candidates during the application process.
Candidates are advised to read the recruitment notification and the instructions accompanying the result carefully. They should ensure that their personal details, application information and post code correspond with the recruitment for which they appeared.
Individual Verification Schedule to Be Issued
Document verification will commence on October 15, but candidates should not assume that everyone will be required to report on the same day. The commission will issue a detailed schedule specifying the dates and other instructions applicable to shortlisted candidates.
The individual schedule will determine when each candidate must appear for verification. Candidates should therefore distinguish between the overall commencement date of the process and their personally allotted reporting date.
According to the commission, information concerning document verification will be sent to candidates through the email addresses provided in their applications. Separate call letters will not be issued.
Shortlisted candidates should regularly check the email accounts registered with the commission, including their spam or junk folders, to ensure that important communications are not missed. They should also monitor the commission’s official website for the detailed schedule and any additional instructions.
Candidates are advised not to determine their reporting dates based on information received by other applicants. Each candidate must follow the schedule and instructions applicable to them.
Documents Required for Verification
The commission has asked shortlisted candidates to bring the original copies of all required documents. In addition, they must carry two sets of self-attested photocopies of every necessary document.
Candidates should organise their documents in advance and ensure that photocopies are clear and legible. The original certificates and both sets of photocopies should be arranged systematically so that they can be produced promptly when requested during verification.
Candidates must also carry a downloaded copy of their online application form and an identity card. They should check that the printed application form is complete and that the details are clearly visible.
The documents specifically highlighted by the commission include original certificates, two sets of self-attested photocopies, a downloaded copy of the online application form and an identity card.
Candidates should additionally review the recruitment advertisement and the detailed verification instructions to establish which educational qualifications, category certificates and other eligibility documents apply to their individual cases. Any requirements relating to document formats, validity or prescribed conditions should be checked against the commission’s official instructions.
Where a requirement is unclear, candidates should seek clarification through the commission’s authorised channels rather than rely on unofficial information.
No Second Opportunity for Absentees
Dr Vikram Mahajan has made it clear that candidates who fail to appear on their scheduled document verification date will not be given another opportunity later.
The warning makes it important for shortlisted candidates to check their individual schedules as soon as they are issued and complete their travel and documentation arrangements well in advance. Any necessary certificates or supporting records should be collected before the reporting date.
With the screening-test result now declared, the immediate priorities for shortlisted candidates are to check the official verification schedule, monitor their registered email accounts, prepare the required documents and report on the assigned date.
The commission has advised candidates to follow all instructions carefully to avoid missing the next stage of the recruitment process.
