August 2026, Barrackpore : In a significant achievement for fisheries research and innovation, the ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR-CIFRI), Barrackpore, has been granted Indian Patent No. 600617 on 27 August 2026 for the invention entitled “A Process for Nanoemulsifiable Concentrate Formulations of Hydrophobic Bioactive Molecules.” The patented technology represents an important advancement in the formulation of hydrophobic bioactive molecules and has been successfully translated into CIFRI ARGCURE®, an innovative product developed for the management of Argulus and other fish ectoparasites, which pose a significant challenge to fish health and aquaculture productivity.

CIFRI ARGCURE® has already been commercialized twice on a Non-Exclusive basis through Agrinnovate India Ltd.
