Participates in ‘Angan Milan Seva’ at Nimora and Dhusera in Abhanpur; joins God Bharai and Annaprashan ceremonies

Raipur, September 2026: Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Laxmi Rajwade participated in the ‘Angan Milan Seva’ programme organised at Anganwadi centres in Nimora and Dhusera in the Abhanpur Assembly constituency.

During her visit, Rajwade interacted warmly with children, distributed chocolates and arranged a nutritious meal for them under the Nyoata Bhoj initiative. She also participated in God Bharai ceremonies for pregnant women and Annaprashan ceremonies for young children, extending her wishes to the mothers and their families.

The Angan Milan Seva programme is being organised at Anganwadi centres across Chhattisgarh under the Seva Sankalp campaign. The initiative aims to increase family and community participation in child nutrition, maternal and child health and early childhood development.

As part of the programme, Rajwade spent time with children, mothers and Anganwadi workers at both centres. She spoke to the children about their interests and interacted with Anganwadi workers to learn about the nutrition, care and other activities being conducted at the centres.

Rajwade said children can build a strong future only when they remain healthy and receive proper opportunities to learn. She stressed the importance of continuous engagement between families and Anganwadi centres.

The Minister appealed to mothers to include locally available nutritious foods such as pulses, green vegetables and other healthy food items in their children’s diets. She also encouraged families to regularly make use of the services provided through Anganwadi centres.

She said occasions such as God Bharai and Annaprashan also provide an opportunity to engage with families on issues related to nutrition, maternal health and child care.

During the programme, a moringa sapling was planted on the premises of an Anganwadi centre as part of the ‘Har Ghar Munga, Ghar-Ghar Munga’ campaign. Rajwade also distributed moringa saplings to mothers and other women, encouraging them to plant and nurture the saplings in their home gardens or other suitable locations.

The Minister said moringa is a useful plant that is locally available and can serve as an additional source of nutritious food for families. She said expanding the cultivation of moringa in home gardens and nutrition gardens could help connect households with locally available nutritional resources.

During her interaction with women and rural residents, Rajwade also provided information about various services and schemes being implemented by the Women and Child Development Department.

She said Anganwadi centres are not merely places for children but also important centres for providing information and services related to nutrition, maternal and child care and early childhood education to pregnant women, mothers and families.

Rajwade emphasised that active community participation can make these services more effective and help strengthen the connection between families and Anganwadi centres.

Abhanpur MLA Indra Kumar Sahu, local public representatives, Anganwadi workers and helpers, women and children were present during the programme.
