New Delhi, Aug 2026 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) newly appointed national office-bearers at the party headquarters in New Delhi, stressing the importance of fresh ideas, new perspectives and stronger engagement with people in strengthening the organisation.
Sharing photographs of the interaction on social media platform X, Modi said organisational meetings provide an opportunity for party colleagues to exchange ideas and work towards deepening the BJP’s connect with the public.
“Organisational meetings are all about new ideas and perspectives aimed at strengthening the Party and deepening connect with the people. Great interaction with fellow Party colleagues and the new organisational team!” the Prime Minister said.
Modi was welcomed at the BJP headquarters by party president Nitin Nabin, who assumed charge of the organisation recently. The Prime Minister also joined the newly appointed office-bearers for a group photograph.
The meeting was Modi’s first interaction with Nabin’s newly constituted national team since its announcement earlier this week. The 65-member team includes 51 new faces, with leaders from several states being entrusted with important organisational responsibilities.
The interaction assumes significance as the BJP steps up preparations for a series of organisational activities and public outreach programmes. Strengthening the party’s grassroots presence and expanding its engagement with younger sections of society are among the key areas receiving attention.
Earlier on Saturday, Nabin held a meeting with the new office-bearers and underlined the importance of “Yuva Samvad”, or sustained dialogue with young people. The BJP is planning outreach programmes targeting people aged 14 years and above, with dedicated teams expected to be constituted for the initiative.
Senior party leaders from different states are likely to be included in these teams, while the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has been assigned a role in helping constitute the teams and coordinate mobilisation efforts. Former national office-bearers are also expected to receive responsibilities as part of the campaign.
The BJP’s organisational preparations for upcoming Assembly elections also figured in discussions, with the leadership focusing on strengthening the grassroots network and ensuring greater organisational preparedness.
Nabin is scheduled to chair another review meeting at the BJP headquarters extension on Sunday. The meeting is expected to bring together State BJP presidents, organisational general secretaries and State in-charges.
The upcoming review is likely to assess the party’s preparations for elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab, besides examining forthcoming organisational programmes and other issues concerning the party’s expansion and functioning.
Modi’s meeting with the new team also came against the backdrop of the BJP’s resolution on Vande Mataram adopted on Saturday. The party defended the historical legacy and honour of the National Song and criticised the Congress Working Committee’s decision to follow its 1937 resolution restricting the song’s use at party programmes to its first two stanzas.
The BJP said it would oppose any attempt to subordinate Vande Mataram to what it described as “communal pressure, political appeasement, or narrow vote-bank considerations”.
The party has also announced a nationwide campaign aimed at creating awareness about the history and significance of Vande Mataram.
The Prime Minister’s interaction with the new organisational team is expected to set the tone for the BJP’s next phase of organisational activity, with emphasis on strengthening internal coordination, expanding grassroots outreach and establishing a deeper connection with emerging sections of the electorate.
