Chief Minister joins Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘MY Bharat- Khelo India Samvad’ programme through VC
Jaipur, August 2026 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the ‘MY Bharat-Khelo India Samvad’ programme organised on the occasion of National Sports Day(August 29) on Thursday. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma joined the programme via video conferencing from Subodh P.G. College, Jaipur and listened to the Prime Minister’s address.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the Youth Power of India is the nation’s greatest asset. He said that the Sankalp of building a developed India can be realised only through the patience, self-confidence and tireless efforts of the youth. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a positive environment for sports has been created across the country and rural talent is now getting opportunities to showcase its potential on national and international platforms. Paying tribute to the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, he said that National Sports Day provides an opportunity to remember his outstanding contribution and dedication to sports.
Revised Khelo India Scheme to give new direction to sports
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes that a country can win medals only when a strong sporting culture is developed. He said that as a result of the Prime Minister’s visionary leadership, India is now moving ahead confidently in the field of sports with sports emerging as a powerful medium of nation-building. He said that the revised Khelo India Scheme of the Central Government, with an expenditure of Rs 36,000 crore, will provide a new direction and impetus to sports.
The Chief Minister said that the sports landscape of the country has witnessed significant transformation since 2014. He said that the Prime Minister has consistently worked towards empowering and encouraging the youth. Referring to Swami Vivekananda’s vision that the 21st century would belong to India, he said that this vision is now becoming a reality under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India has become the world’s fourth-largest economy and is progressing towards securing the third position, he added.
MY Bharat, a powerful platform to connect youth with nation-building
He said that nearly 65 per cent of the country’s population is below the age of 35. The MY Bharat digital platform, launched under the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is providing young people with opportunities for skill development, leadership and civic participation, thereby enabling them to become active partners in nation-building. He said that MY Bharat is not merely a portal, but a powerful platform that connects the capabilities of the ‘Amrit Generation’ with the vision of a developed India.
He said that the State Government has also launched the ‘Suyog’ platform to connect the youth of Rajasthan with sports, skill development, employment and community participation. The objective is to connect young people in every village and ward of the state with the mainstream of development.
Sports infrastructure being strengthened in Rajasthan
The Chief Minister said that the Double-Engine government is continuously working to take sports in the state to new heights. Players are being prepared for world-class competitions through better training, modern facilities, financial security and recognition. He said that 50 Khelo India Centres have been established in the state. Centres of Excellence for athletics, archery and boxing are being developed at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, while Maharana Pratap Sports University is also being established in Jaipur at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 101 crore.
Rs 52 crore worth of assistance and incentive provided to 3,540 players
The Chief Minister said that 186 sportspersons who have brought laurels to the state at the national and international levels have been appointed to government services. The State Government has so far provided approximately Rs 52 crore in incentives and assistance to 3,540 players, he added.
He said that Rajasthan hosted the Khelo India University Games-2025 for the first time, successfully organising the event across seven cities, with nearly 7,000 players from 222 universities participating. He further said that Rajasthan’s players won a total of 60 medals at the Khelo India Youth Games-2025, securing third position in the country.
The Chief Minister appreciated Arundhati Chaudhary, who recently won the gold medal at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, and Yashveer Singh, who won the bronze medal, and said that their outstanding performances have enhanced the pride and prestige of the state.
One Sport to be Promoted in Every District
He said that the Rajasthan Youth Policy-2026 has created new opportunities for youth in education, skill development, sports and leadership development. "Under the 'One District-One Sport' initiative, each district is assigned a specific sport to promote. With the objective of winning medals at the Olympic Games, the Rajasthan Target Olympic Podium Scheme has also been launched.
He said that the mess allowance for players enrolled in departmental academies has been increased from Rs 2,600 to Rs 4,000 per month.
State Government committed to empowering the youth
The Chief Minister said that the State Government is taking the aspirations and expectations of the youth into consideration in every Budget and working to fulfil them. The government has issued a calendar for recruitment examinations. So far, 410 examinations have been conducted without any paper leaks, and more than 1.89 lakh appointments have been made. Recruitment processes for more than 1.22 lakh posts are currently underway while preparations are in progress for recruitment to more than 70,000 additional posts. In the private sector, more than 4.5 lakh young people have also secured employment.
He said that the State Government is leaving no stone unturned in providing opportunities for the youth to progress. He called upon young people to move forward with hard work and dedication in their preferred sectors. The Double-Engine government is committed to providing adequate opportunities and facilities to the youth to excel in sports as well as in every other field.
Earlier, the Chief Minister interacted with Lakshita, bronze medal winner at the 6th Asian Under-18 Athletics Championship, Manav Sharma, silver medal winner at the All India University Games, Aviral Tiwari, gold medal winner at the State Under-23 Championship and Bhumika Pareek, participant in the HCL 81st National Squash Championship. He listened to their experiences and suggestions.
The programme was attended by MPs Rao Rajendra Singh and Manju Sharma along with other dignitaries, representatives from the sports fraternity and a large number of young people.
