Actor Vijay’s Party Receives Approval from Election Commission: Future Plans Unveiled
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam: Tamil actor Vijay’s political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, has officially been registered by the Election Commission of India, granting it the ability to participate in electoral politics. Vijay shared the news on Instagram, announcing that his party is now recognized as a political entity eligible to contest elections.
Vijay had initially revealed his plans to form a political party on February 2. However, he confirmed that Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam will be contesting the 2026 assembly elections instead of the upcoming 2024 elections. On August 22, Vijay introduced the party’s official flag and symbol during an event held at the Panaiyur party office. An official anthem was also launched at the same event.
Prior to raising the party’s flag, Vijay recited a pledge, committing to upholding the principle of equality for all living beings. He expressed his dedication to eliminating discrimination based on caste, religion, gender, or birthplace, spreading awareness among the public, and advocating for equal opportunities and rights for all citizens.
