Chief Secretary Dr. Renu Sharma attends NECTAR Meeting
Today, Chief Secretary Dr. Renu Sharma participated in the 12th Governing Council meeting of the North Eastern Centre for Technology Application and Reach (NECTAR) held in New Delhi. The meeting focused on discussing various initiatives aimed at utilizing contemporary expertise to advance the development of the North Eastern region.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary submitted Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for two key projects to Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. These projects are the Mass Production of Commercially Important Plants of Mizoram using Tissue Culture Techniques and the Establishment of Mizoram’s First Naturopathy Centre in Integration with the Indian Traditional Health System.
Additionally, concept notes for five other projects were submitted to NECTAR officials. These include the Installation of Solar Cold Storage Facilities, Hydroponics Technology for Green Fodder Production, In Situ Pilot-scale Demonstration of Monorail Transport System for Farmers and Vegetables in Selected Rural Villages of Mizoram, Establishment of Mizoram GeoSpatial Research and Development Hub for Remote Sensing & GIS Applications, and Networking and Large-Scale Landslide Hazard Zonation (LHZ) Mapping for Aizawl Municipal Area.
