Israeli Agriculture Expert Visits Mizoram’s Horticulture Initiatives
February – As part of the Indo-Israel Agriculture Programme (IIAP), Israeli agricultural expert Pu Uri Rubinstein visited Mizoram to assess horticulture initiatives, including the proposed Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Vegetables at Zawlpui Zau in Serchhip District.
On February 25, 2025, he visited the Centre of Excellence for Fruits in Lunglei, followed by an inspection of the proposed site for the CoE for Vegetables on February 26, 2025. During this visit, he also held a productive meeting with Zawlpui vegetable growers.
Today, he attended the All Horticulture Officers Meeting, where he discussed the progress and impact of horticulture projects and expressed appreciation for the efforts of department officials.
During his visit, Pu Uri Rubinstein also met with Mizoram’s Horticulture Minister, Prof. Lalnilawma. The two discussed various strategies for improving and implementing horticulture initiatives in the state.
