CM Bhajanlal Sharma Thanks PM Modi for GST Rate Simplification, Says Reform to Benefit Poor, Farmers, Middle Class, Traders and Industrialists; Economy to Gain New Momentum
Jaipur, Sept 2025 – Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma expressed gratitude on behalf of Rajasthan’s 8 crore citizens to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman for the GST Council’s decision to simplify tax rates, calling it a historic step towards providing relief to the public.
Addressing a press conference in the Assembly on Thursday, Shri Sharma said the GST Council’s move to reduce the structure from four slabs to just two is a landmark reform in the Goods and Services Tax system. He noted that the decision was made keeping in mind the basic needs of food, clothing, and housing, ensuring maximum benefit to the poor, farmers, middle class, traders, and industrialists alike. He added that this year’s Diwali will be especially significant with this reform.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Prime Minister Modi is working to realize the vision of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar by ensuring that the last person in the queue benefits from welfare measures. He emphasized that the Prime Minister’s decisions are playing a vital role in achieving the goal of a developed nation and states.
Shri Sharma reiterated that under PM Modi’s leadership, the “double-engine government” is consistently working towards public welfare and accelerating economic growth.
