Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Inaugurates 29th AMKA State Karate Championship
Aizawl, December 2025: Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Minister Pu B. Lalchhanzova inaugurated the Mizoram State Sports Council Golden Jubilee – 29th AMKA State Karate Championship 2025-26 at the Aizawl West Joint YMA Hall, Vaivakawn. The event is a part of the MSSC Golden Jubilee celebrations.

In his address, Minister B. Lalchhanzova said that Karate, learned with dedication and discipline from childhood, helps shape strong self-control and strengthens both body and mind. He expressed appreciation for the organisers of AMKA and praised their tireless efforts and commitment, noting that their initiative to promote Karate among children is a significant service to society. He encouraged the young Karate students to stay healthy and continue training with determination to overcome challenges and excel.
Guest of Honour Dr. Lalhmuchhuaka, Vice President of the Mizoram State Sports Council, also spoke during the event. He highlighted that India is aspiring to host the Olympic Games in 2036 and that training programmes are already underway in Mizoram to prepare potential Olympians. He encouraged young Karate students to continue striving for greater achievements and to aim for awards in various games and competitions.
The inaugural programme was chaired by Pi R. Lalbiakdiki, Vice Chairman of the Championship Organising Board, and an organisational report was presented by Secretary Sensei Lalropuia Pautu. All Mizoram Karate Association President Pu R. Zomawia also addressed the gathering, and a colourful demonstration followed.
As part of the 29th AMKA State Karate Championship 2025-26, a Referee & Judge Training cum Examination programme was conducted yesterday under the leadership of Referee Commission Chairman Sensei Lalropuia Pautu. Four new Referee and Judge candidates successfully passed the examination.
Karate competitions will be held in both Kata and Kumite categories for boys and girls, beginning from under-five age groups up to senior level. Around 430 players representing 17 karate training districts/groups are expected to take part in the championship.
The championship is scheduled to conclude on Friday, December 19, 2025.
