Mizoram Governor Flags off PNB Soldierathon 2026

Aizawl, April, 2026 : Mizoram Governor, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd) on Sunday flagged off the second edition of PNB Soldierathon 2026, organised by Punjab National Bank and the Indian Armed Forces to mark the bank’s 132nd Foundation Day.

The event, themed “Run For Soldiers”, was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi to honour the heroes of Operation Sindoor and promote physical well-being under the Fit India Campaign. Over 27,000 people participated.

Speaking at the event, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh warmly praised the Soldierathon, jointly organised by Punjab National Bank and the Indian Armed Forces, for promoting the vital importance of physical fitness and good health. He highlighted that the Soldierathon was launched under the Fit India Campaign. Through this inspiring initiative, the public is being educated about the need to build a strong and healthy body. He added that if this powerful message is spread far and wide, the entire society will reap the benefits.

The marathon featured three race categories – 21.1 km Half Marathon, 10 km Run, and 5 km Run – with a total prize pool of ₹19.5 lakh. The event aimed to honour soldiers while encouraging fitness across all levels.
