AdaniConneX to Lead 1 GW AI-Ready Data Centre Platform in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam, April 2026 : AdaniConneX has emerged as the lead infrastructure partner in developing a massive 1 gigawatt (GW) AI-ready data centre platform in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam, marking a major milestone in India’s digital infrastructure expansion.
Backed by an estimated $10 billion investment from the Adani Group, the project underscores the conglomerate’s long-term commitment to building large-scale, future-ready digital ecosystems. The initiative is designed to support the growing demand for artificial intelligence and cloud computing, positioning India as a global technology powerhouse.
AdaniConneX, a joint venture between the Adani Group and EdgeConneX, will spearhead the development of scalable infrastructure capable of handling high-density AI and cloud workloads. The platform will be supported by a robust and integrated energy ecosystem, ensuring uninterrupted and sustainable power supply—an essential requirement for modern data centres.
Leveraging the Adani Group’s expertise in energy and infrastructure, the project aims to deliver reliable, long-term power solutions while maintaining sustainability. The phased rollout of the platform will align with hyperscale demand, enabling a flexible and future-ready ecosystem that can adapt to evolving technological needs.

Meanwhile, Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted that the launch of the India AI Hub in Visakhapatnam aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of establishing India as a global leader in technology and innovation.
In a parallel development, Google has officially commenced construction of its largest AI-focused investment in India, further reinforcing confidence in the country’s digital growth story. The project, being developed in collaboration with AdaniConneX and Nxtra by Airtel, is expected to become a cornerstone of India’s expanding digital infrastructure.
Together, these initiatives signal a transformative phase for Visakhapatnam, positioning it as a major hub for next-generation technologies and a critical driver of India’s digital future.
