Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar holds meeting with Siaha District officials

Siaha, April 2026: The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar today held a high level interaction with district officials of Siaha through video conference from MINECO Secretariat Conference Hall, Aizawl. Deputy Commissioner Shri VL Hruaizela Khiangte along with head of offices and Officials from MADC joined from DC’s Mini Conference hall, Siaha.

DC Siaha gave a short round of introduction and gave a brief overview of the district. SP Siaha highlighted the peaceful law & order situation stressing that a strict vigil against illegal cross-border activities including drugs and arms trafficking is maintained under the overall framework of national security. Department officials from the district appraised the Minister on the ongoing schemes as well as their achievements and the challenges they faced.

Various topics including cross border issues, international trade, security related issues, education and health and how to mitigate these challenges were discussed at length. The Minister stressed better coordination between Assam Rifles, State Police, District Administration, and Village Councils to ensure both security and welfare of border residents.

The Union Minister was expected to arrive in Siaha today but had to make alternative arrangement due to inclement weather.

Minister was accompanied by Shri Andra Vamsi, IAS , PS to MoS (Home), Protocal Officer and other state officials
