Chief Secretary Reviews Saksham Anganwadi, Poshan 2.0 and Mission Shakti; Directs Strict Compliance of National Conference Guidelines

Jaipur, April 2026 : A high-level review meeting of the State Empowered Programme Committee was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, focusing on key initiatives under the Women and Child Development Department, including Saksham Anganwadi, Poshan 2.0, and Mission Shakti.

The meeting, conducted at the Directorate of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and Women Empowerment Directorate, reviewed the implementation status and progress of ongoing welfare schemes aimed at women and children in the state.

The Chief Secretary directed that a comprehensive action plan be prepared to ensure strict compliance with the instructions issued by the Government of India during the fifth National Chief Secretaries’ Conference held in New Delhi. He also emphasized that timely responses should be sent to all official communications received from the Government of India.

He stressed that schemes implemented by the Women and Child Development Department must reach beneficiaries on time, and for this, stronger coordination with other concerned departments is essential.

The Chief Secretary further instructed that One Stop Centres be regularly inspected to ensure quality services for women in need. He also suggested improving the Lado Yojana portal by holding separate coordination meetings with the Education Department and other related departments. In this context, he recommended reviewing the Vidya Samiksha Kendra portal for best practices and integration.

Highlighting the importance of early childhood care, he directed that the process of co-locating Anganwadi centres with nearby government schools be accelerated across the state. He also instructed that “Champion Anganwadi Workers” be regularly trained on departmental schemes and that periodic webinars be conducted for capacity building.

To enhance community participation, he emphasized increasing the involvement of fathers in Parent-Worker meetings held at Anganwadi centres. He also called for improving basic infrastructure at these centres through better convergence with relevant departments.

During the meeting, the Annual Programme Implementation Plan (APIP) 2026–27 for Integrated Child Development Services was also approved.

The Chief Secretary reiterated that effective implementation, inter-departmental coordination, and timely monitoring are crucial to ensuring that welfare schemes achieve their intended impact on women and children across the state.
