Ahmedabad Hosts GRAM-2026 Investor Meet; Rajasthan Invites Global Investors to Transform State into Agri-Business Powerhouse
Jaipur, April 2026 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Thursday said that Rajasthan, with its strong agricultural diversity—from millets and mustard to isabgol and cumin—has immense potential to emerge as India’s leading agri-business powerhouse.
He was addressing the Global Rajasthan AgriTech Meet (GRAM) 2026 Investor Meet held in Ahmedabad, where he formally invited investors to participate in the main event scheduled in Jaipur from May 23 to 25. He urged them to become partners in Rajasthan’s agricultural transformation journey and development mission.
The Chief Minister noted that Ahmedabad holds special significance as the karmabhoomi of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from where he introduced the world to the Gujarat model of development, which has now become a global benchmark.
Rajasthan emerging as major agri investment hub
Sharma said that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Indian agriculture is undergoing rapid modernisation, becoming more technology-driven and profitable, enabling even small farmers to become strong market participants. He emphasized that farmers’ prosperity is central to national development.
He said GRAM-2026 will open new avenues for investment in agriculture, agritech, food processing, drones, artificial intelligence-based farming, and cold chain infrastructure. The event will bring together global investors, agricultural scientists, startups, and policymakers on a single platform.
He added that successful investor meets have already been held in New Delhi and Bengaluru, where strong interest was seen in agritech, food processing, cold storage, and organic farming sectors.
Strong investment momentum in food processing
The Chief Minister highlighted that Rajasthan’s agriculture sector is undergoing a major transformation, with over ₹3,500 crore already invested in more than 1,500 food processing units. The state has also planned 39 food parks, with land identified at 34 locations to boost processing infrastructure.
He said Rajasthan and Gujarat share similar agricultural structures, and joint development of food processing units and supply chains can help farmers access better markets and higher incomes.
Major achievements in investment and infrastructure
Sharma informed that during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, MoUs worth ₹44,000 crore were signed in the agriculture sector, of which nearly ₹10,000 crore has already been implemented. To support industry growth, the state has developed 46,000 km of roads in the last two years.
He also highlighted reforms in investment policies, stating that simplified procedures, clear policies, and faster decision-making have improved the investment climate. He urged diaspora Rajasthani entrepreneurs to invest in the state.
Energy, irrigation and farmer welfare initiatives
The Chief Minister said Rajasthan is moving towards energy self-sufficiency, with 8,670 MW of additional capacity added in two years. Farmers in 24 districts are now receiving daytime electricity supply.
He also mentioned ongoing water and irrigation projects, including the Ram Jal Setu Link Project and Yamuna water agreement for Shekhawati, which will benefit vast agricultural areas in the future.
Under various welfare schemes, over 76 lakh farmers have received ₹12,000 crore under income support, ₹6,500 crore in crop insurance claims have been disbursed, 2.2 crore insurance policies issued, and more than 65,000 solar pump sets installed under the PM-KUSUM scheme. Additionally, ₹52,000 crore in interest-free short-term agricultural loans has been provided to 78 lakh farmers.
Rajasthan Foundation chapter launched
On this occasion, the Chief Minister formally inaugurated the Ahmedabad chapter of the Rajasthan Foundation. MoUs related to dairy, food parks, food processing, and spice processing sectors were also exchanged. A detailed investor interaction session was held to explore future partnerships and investment opportunities.
The event was attended by several dignitaries including Gujarat Education Minister Dr. Padyumna Vaja, Rajasthan ministers, senior officials, industry leaders, investors, and startup founders.
