CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Attends Bhagwati Jagran in Dehradun, Highlights Cultural Renaissance in India
Dehradun, May 2026: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a grand Maa Bhagwati Jagran programme at Selaqui in Dehradun district, where he offered prayers for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the state. The event, organised by the Adyashakti Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Dham Seva Samiti, witnessed the presence of a large number of devotees.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized that preserving the spiritual identity, cultural heritage, and Sanatan traditions of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is a collective responsibility. He said that since 2014, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has entered a “golden era” of cultural revival.
Dhami noted that the construction of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, after centuries of waiting, represents not just the building of a temple but the restoration of India’s faith, culture, and pride. He credited the central government’s firm resolve in advancing the project as an inspiration for future generations.
Highlighting broader efforts, he said major initiatives such as the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Mahakal Lok, Kedarnath reconstruction, and the Badrinath Master Plan are revitalising India’s spiritual and cultural consciousness. He added that these efforts have also helped bring global recognition to India’s rich heritage.
Referring to the reconstruction of Kedarnath after the 2013 disaster, Dhami said the shrine has been transformed into a grand and divine destination under the Prime Minister’s guidance. He pointed out that since the Char Dham Yatra began on April 22 this year, over 300,000 devotees have already visited the sacred sites, reflecting unwavering faith in Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the launch of the Winter Yatra initiative from 2024, aimed at promoting year-round pilgrimage, generating local employment, and strengthening the state’s economy. He said the initiative has received strong support from the Prime Minister.
Dhami further noted that the Prime Minister’s visit to Adi Kailash has significantly increased tourist and pilgrim footfall in border areas, boosting local tourism and livelihoods. He reiterated the government’s commitment to developing these regions.
On infrastructure, he said connectivity in Uttarakhand is being rapidly enhanced through joint efforts of the Centre and the state. The Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, he said, will drastically reduce travel time and give a major boost to tourism, trade, and pilgrimage. He shared that he recently travelled from Delhi to Dehradun in just two and a half hours, demonstrating the project’s impact.
He also mentioned the proposed ropeway project to Hemkund Sahib, which will make the pilgrimage safer and more accessible while accelerating regional development.
Calling it a blessing to be associated with Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, Dhami said everyone has a responsibility to preserve its spiritual essence and cultural values for future generations. He stressed that the state government is working with a commitment to balance development and heritage, focusing on infrastructure, environmental protection, and cultural preservation.
The Chief Minister also praised the organisers, stating that such religious events help unite society and connect the younger generation with their cultural roots.
