Applications Invited on Deputation Basis Under ‘Nav Bharat Saksharta’ Programme

Mumbai, May 2026 : The Directorate of School Education (Planning) has invited applications from teachers, staff members, and officers for appointments on a deputation basis under the centrally sponsored “Nav Bharat Saksharta” literacy programme. The last date for submitting applications has been extended to May 22, 2026.

The Nav Bharat Saksharta programme is being implemented for individuals aged 15 years and above across the state. For the implementation of the programme from the academic year 2026–27 onwards, applications had earlier been invited from eligible personnel serving in local self-government bodies or government service.

Eligible applicants include teaching staff, Deputy Education Officers or equivalent Group-B officers, Assistant Education Inspectors or equivalent posts, Extension Officers, and other officers and employees from the education sector.

According to officials, the deadline has been extended due to an insufficient number of applications received during the initial application period.

A Google link for submitting applications has been made available on the Directorate’s official website. The application submission window will remain open from 10 a.m. on May 15, 2026, until 6 p.m. on May 22, 2026.

Officials stated that the selection process will be conducted at the Directorate level based on the number of applications received. The recruitment process will consider factors such as educational qualifications, professional qualifications, work experience, interviews, presentations, and other evaluation criteria.

The Director of Education (Planning) has appealed to interested and eligible candidates to submit their applications through the prescribed mechanism within the stipulated deadline.
