NEET Paper Leak Probe Deepens: MBBS Student Vanishes as CBI Expands Rajasthan Education Mafia Investigation
Jaipur, May 2026 : The NEET-UG paper leak investigation in Rajasthan has taken a dramatic turn, with the disappearance of a first-year MBBS student from a government medical college adding a new twist to what is increasingly being described as a deep-rooted education mafia case involving multiple states.
The missing student, Pragati Biwal, is a first-year MBBS student at Pandit Nawal Kishore Sharma Government Medical College in Dausa and the daughter of arrested NEET paper leak accused Mangilal Biwal. According to official and campus sources, she quietly submitted a leave application and left the campus shortly after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) intensified its crackdown on her family.
Pragati has not attended classes for the past two days, triggering concern among college authorities and raising questions about her sudden disappearance. While her family maintains that she was admitted purely on merit after clearing competitive medical entrance requirements, the timing of her exit has drawn close scrutiny from investigators.
The CBI is now examining whether the academic admissions of multiple members of the Biwal family are linked to the alleged NEET paper leak network. Officials are analysing records to determine if irregularities or external assistance played any role in securing seats in medical institutions across India.
What has particularly raised suspicion is the unusually high concentration of medical students within the same family. Pragati Biwal is pursuing MBBS in Dausa, while her brother Vikas is enrolled at Sawai Madhopur Medical College. Her cousin Saniya studies at SMS Medical College in Jaipur, another cousin Palak is pursuing medicine in Mumbai, and a family member Gunjan is enrolled in a medical college in Banaras. Investigators are now assessing whether this pattern reflects merit-based success or systematic manipulation of the admission process.
Meanwhile, the CBI has expanded its searches across Rajasthan, including fresh raids at the Biwal family’s residence in Jamwaramgarh, Jaipur. On Thursday, officials conducted detailed searches at their home in Khatik Mohalla, where no male members were present at the time. Women members of the household, including the mother and wives of the accused, were questioned for several hours.
Investigators also searched a nearby farmhouse and examined luxury vehicles parked on the premises. Several documents and electronic devices believed to be linked to the alleged racket were seized for forensic analysis.
The probe has already spread beyond Rajasthan, with arrests reported in Maharashtra as well. So far, seven individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. Five accused, including Mangilal Biwal, Dinesh Biwal, and Vikas, have been sent to seven-day CBI custody for detailed interrogation.
Authorities are also searching for Rishi, son of Dinesh Biwal and a NEET aspirant this year, who is currently absconding.
As the investigation widens, officials believe the scandal may involve a larger, well-coordinated network manipulating one of India’s most competitive medical entrance examinations. The sudden disappearance of a medical student from her campus has only deepened suspicions, adding yet another layer of mystery to what could become one of Rajasthan’s biggest education fraud cases in recent years.
