Kejriwal Holds Key Election Strategy Talks in Punjab; AAP Reviews Poll Preparations

Ludhiana, May 2026 : Punjab: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal arrived in Ludhiana on Wednesday along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for a two-day visit focused on strengthening the party’s preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections.

The two leaders were warmly welcomed by party workers at Halwara Airport. Following the reception, Kejriwal interacted with the media and highlighted what he described as growing public support for the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab. He stated that the political sentiment in the state is increasingly in favour of the party, crediting government initiatives and policy decisions for improving public confidence.

According to party sources, the visit is primarily aimed at conducting a comprehensive review of AAP’s organisational structure in Punjab. Discussions are expected to focus on election strategy, candidate selection, and strengthening grassroots-level mobilisation ahead of the polls. Special emphasis is likely to be placed on expanding booth-level coordination, improving voter outreach, and enhancing the party’s digital and on-ground campaign mechanisms.

During the visit, Kejriwal and Mann are also expected to assess the performance of ongoing governance initiatives in the state. The leadership is reviewing development projects and administrative reforms being implemented under the AAP-led government, with a focus on aligning governance outcomes with electoral strategy.

The timing of the visit is seen as significant, as political activity in Punjab is gradually intensifying with all major parties stepping up preparations for the electoral battle. AAP insiders suggest that the meeting aims to further consolidate the party’s organisational strength and ensure better coordination between the state leadership and central leadership.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, meanwhile, continues to remain engaged in governance and development work across Punjab, with multiple infrastructure and welfare projects underway. Party leaders believe that this dual focus on governance and organisation will play a crucial role in shaping the political atmosphere in the coming months.

Overall, Kejriwal’s Punjab visit is being viewed as a strategic move to sharpen AAP’s election machinery, reinforce internal coordination, and strengthen the party’s position as it heads into a crucial electoral phase in the state.
