Special Preventive Campaign: 4.50 Lakh Litres of Wash Destroyed in State; Action Continues

Jaipur, May 2026 : Under the direction of Excise Commissioner Namit Mehta, a special preventive campaign is being actively carried out across the state to curb illegal production, storage, transport, and sale of liquor. The operation includes intensive checking through blockades, patrols, and raids.

During the ongoing drive, which is aimed at strict enforcement against illicit liquor activities, 1,652 cases were registered across the state between May 1 and May 21, 2026. A total of 755 persons were arrested during this period.

Authorities seized large quantities of illegal liquor, including 5,994 litres of country-made liquor valued at ₹16.09 lakh, 31,610 litres of India-made foreign liquor worth ₹3.17 crore, 19,295 litres of beer worth ₹43.39 lakh, 20 litres of spirit, and 11,390 litres of illicit country liquor. In addition, 4,50,663 litres of wash used in illegal distillation was destroyed.

The department also seized 73 vehicles used in illegal liquor activities, including 13 heavy vehicles, 3 light four-wheelers, and 56 two-wheelers.

Officials said that enforcement teams (EPF units) have been conducting coordinated operations in various districts. In Rajsamand, under the Kamli Ghat excise police station area, 25 litres of country-made liquor were seized and an illegal distillation unit was destroyed.

In Hanumangarh district, raids were carried out in the Gangagarh Debugarh and Gangaghat areas, where 5,000 litres of wash and eight illegal distillation units were destroyed.

In Pali, an EPF team seized 36 beer bottles and 28 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor and arrested an accused person on the spot.

The Excise Department stated that similar strict actions, including blockades, raids, and intensified patrolling, are being conducted in all districts as part of the ongoing campaign to curb illegal liquor trade across the state.
