Raipur, May 2026: Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma conducted an on-site inspection of the Bhoramdev Corridor construction project and chaired a detailed review meeting to assess its progress.

The Deputy Chief Minister also emphasized that the upcoming museum should prominently showcase the history of the Bhoramdev Temple, ensuring that visitors gain a clear understanding of its cultural and historical significance.

The ₹146 crore Bhoramdev Corridor project, being developed under the Swadesh Darshan scheme, was reviewed in detail during a meeting held at the Bhoramdev Circuit House. The meeting was also attended by Tourism Department Managing Director Vivek Acharya, who arrived from Raipur.

Before the formal review, Deputy Chief Minister Sharma toured the entire project area along with public representatives, officials, engineers from the executing agencies, and contractors. He closely inspected ongoing works and sought detailed updates on each component of the project as well as future execution plans.

A comprehensive review was conducted covering key elements such as the temple premises, entrance gates, museum construction, tourist facilities, foundation works, landscaping, plantation activities, and beautification of the lake area. The progress of each segment was examined in detail.

Sharma stated that the project is being developed with a long-term vision and must therefore be strong, durable, and constructed as per standards. He issued strict instructions that there should be no compromise on quality and that all work must be completed within the stipulated timeframe. He also directed that adequate machinery and manpower be deployed to ensure timely execution, adding that delays would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He instructed that any technical or operational issues must be reported immediately so that critical work is not affected.

The Deputy Chief Minister reviewed weekly monitoring reports and instructed officials to remain actively present in the field to ensure continuous supervision of construction activities. He also directed engineers from the tourism department to provide necessary technical support to executing agencies to maintain both speed and quality of work.

Detailed discussions were also held on construction works related to the temple complex, Sarovar, Madwa Mahal, Cherki Mahal, Ramchua, and Saroda Dam. Sharma emphasized that the architectural design of the corridor’s entrance gates, pillars, and walls should clearly reflect the Fani Nagvanshi style, allowing visitors to connect with the region’s ancient heritage. He also suggested that the Nandi statue at the entrance should be large and visually striking to enhance the grandeur of the complex.

Special focus was also placed on the development of the tribal museum. The Deputy Chief Minister directed that the historical and mythological narratives of the Bhoramdev region should be effectively showcased, along with a detailed depiction of the temple’s origin and construction history for visitors.

He further stressed cleanliness and public amenities, instructing that separate and properly located toilet facilities should be provided for men and women, with special attention to accessibility for women. Considering the monsoon season, he directed that plantation work should be pre-planned and initiated without delay, with immediate plantation of trees such as peepal, banyan, and neem in open landscaped areas.

The meeting was attended by Rajiv Lochan Maharaj, Zila Panchayat Vice President Kailash Chandravanshi, former Zila Panchayat President Videshi Ram Dhruve, Janpad Vice President of Bodla Nand Shreewas, Ram Kinkar Verma, along with engineers, contractors, and representatives of various construction agencies.
