Patna, June 2026: Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary chaired a high-level review meeting of the Road Construction Department at the Sankalp Hall of the Lok Sevak Bhavan.
During the meeting, Road Construction Department Secretary Pankaj Kumar Pal presented a detailed report on the progress of various road and bridge projects, maintenance works, and future plans of the department.
The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that there is no negligence in the quality of construction and maintenance of roads and bridges. He said that providing the public with safe, smooth, and high-quality road connectivity is among the state government’s highest priorities.
He emphasized that adequate financial resources should be made available and managed efficiently for the construction and upkeep of roads and bridges so that projects can be completed on time and with the desired quality standards.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to conduct regular inspections of all bridges in the state through technical experts and ensure safety audits in accordance with prescribed norms and standards.
Reviewing the progress of the Munger (Safiyabad)–Bariarpur–Ghorghat–Sultanganj–Bhagalpur–Sabour Four-Lane Ganga Path Project, he directed that the project be implemented under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).
He said that work on this important project should move forward in a time-bound and quality-oriented manner so that connectivity in eastern Bihar can be further strengthened, while also accelerating economic growth and tourism development in the region.
The meeting was attended by Road Construction Minister Kumar Shailendra, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, Road Construction Department Secretary Pankaj Kumar Pal, Secretaries to the Chief Minister Lokesh Kumar Singh and Sanjay Kumar Singh, Chairman of Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Managing Director of Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited Shirshat Kapil Ashok, along with other senior officials.
