‘Timeline’ Sows Positivity in Society: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Lokmat Group Editor-in-Chief Rajendra Darda’s Book ‘Timeline’ Released

Mumbai, June 6: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis described Timeline, a book by Lokmat Group Editor-in-Chief Rajendra Darda, as a work that spreads positivity in society and reflects constructive thinking in an era often dominated by negativity.

The book was formally released by the Chief Minister at an event held at the P. L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy, Ravindra Natya Mandir. The ceremony was attended by Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Adv. Rahul Narwekar, singer Padmaja Phenany-Joglekar, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, Dr. Tatyarao Lahane, Dr. Amit Mayadev, renowned calligrapher Achyut Palav, and Vijay Darda, among other distinguished guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Fadnavis said that Timeline is a compilation of social media posts, yet one would struggle to find any negativity in it. He praised the book for promoting optimism and encouraging readers to maintain a positive outlook despite the challenges and uncertainties of modern life.

Fadnavis noted that Rajendra Darda had previously authored several acclaimed books on diverse subjects, including Zhumbar and Majhi Bhint. He said Timeline demonstrates how individuals can remain positive even in a world often overwhelmed by pessimism and division. According to him, the book also emphasizes the importance of adapting to changing times and remaining relevant in an evolving social and technological landscape.

The Chief Minister further observed that the posts compiled in the book continue to remain relevant today. While acknowledging that social media has become a powerful platform for self-expression, he stressed that freedom of expression should not be misused. He called for adherence to ethical standards and responsible conduct on social media platforms.

Fadnavis added that the book offers insights into the thoughts and experiences of people from various sections of society. He also highlighted the element of self-reflection present in the work and expressed confidence that it would serve as an inspiration for younger generations.

Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar said Maharashtra has a rich legacy of literature, culture, arts, knowledge, science, and technology. He described Timeline as a book that demonstrates the influence and potential of social media. According to him, the publication provides direction for meaningful engagement on digital platforms and serves as a guide for quality social media writing.

In his remarks, Rajendra Darda said that social media had enabled him to connect closely with younger generations. He noted that he consciously avoided bitterness in his writings and instead focused on preserving positivity. He explained that many of the incidents and stories featured in Timeline are intended to inspire readers and highlight the efforts of individuals working for the betterment of society.

The event was attended by several prominent personalities, including Mayor Ritu Tawde, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Environment Minister Pankaja Munde, Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, OBC Welfare Minister Atul Save, Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik, Members of Parliament Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare, political leader Bhai Jagtap, music composer Anu Malik, senior journalists Madhukar Bhave and Ramdas Bhatkal, as well as several other distinguished figures from various fields. Hemraj Shah of Rekha Prakashan was also present at the event.
