Review of Progress in Pending and Ongoing Recruitment Drives Across Departments
Discussion Held on Major Recruitments Including Class IV Employees, Sanitation Workers and Constables
Jaipur, June 2026: Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas said that the recruitment processes outlined in the state government’s Recruitment Calendar 2026 are progressing according to schedule. He emphasized that the government remains committed to creating maximum employment opportunities for youth and filling vacant posts across departments at the earliest.
The Chief Secretary directed all departments to promptly complete administrative, financial, regulatory amendment and other procedural requirements related to recruitment. He stressed the need for effective coordination among the Finance Department, Personnel Department, concerned departments and recruitment agencies to prevent unnecessary delays.
Chairing a review meeting at the Secretariat on Saturday, Srinivas said that departments are making significant efforts to complete recruitment processes within stipulated timelines. He conducted a department-wise review of several key recruitment drives, including Sub-Inspector and Constable recruitment under the Home Department, Class IV employee recruitment under the Administrative Reforms Department, sanitation worker recruitment under the Local Self-Government Department, Village Development Officer recruitment under the Panchayati Raj Department, Support Engineer recruitment under the Public Health Engineering Department, teaching and other appointments under the Education Department, and recruitment for medical, nursing and paramedical cadres under the Medical and Health Department.
Officials from the Administrative Reforms Department informed the meeting that the recruitment process for 53,749 Class IV employee posts is underway. Verification of disability category certificates, sports certificates and medical examinations is currently in progress and is expected to be completed soon.
The Secretary of the Local Self-Government Department stated that the recruitment process for 24,793 sanitation worker posts is presently at the approval stage and will be completed within the prescribed timeframe.
Officials from the recruitment commission reported that due to an increase of 61 Sub-Inspector posts in the Home Department, the number of vacancies has risen from the originally advertised 1,015 posts to 1,076 posts. Consequently, the results for the Physical Efficiency Test will be declared for the revised number of vacancies.
Similarly, the number of Constable vacancies has been increased from 4,000 to 6,000 posts, significantly expanding employment opportunities for candidates.
Officials from the Public Health Engineering Department informed the meeting that financial approval has been received for the recruitment of 3,000 Support Engineers and other related posts, and recruitment proceedings will commence shortly.
Representatives of the Medical and Health Department stated that requisitions for 600 Medical Officer vacancies will soon be forwarded to the concerned recruitment agency. Recruitment for 2,000 nursing and paramedical posts will be completed in a time-bound manner after amendments to the relevant recruitment rules are finalized.
In the Education Department, recruitment is underway for 10,000 posts across various categories. Additional vacancies received from the department have been incorporated into ongoing recruitment processes. For instance, in the previously advertised 5,000 Grade III Teacher posts, an additional 2,000 vacancies have been added.
The Chief Secretary instructed departments to complete document verification, medical examinations and all remaining formalities for Class IV recruitment within the stipulated timeframe. He also directed the speedy resolution of pending approvals and procedural matters related to sanitation worker, Village Development Officer, Support Engineer, Medical Officer, nursing, paramedical and education department recruitments.
Srinivas emphasized the need for regular monitoring of recruitment processes and priority disposal of pending matters at the departmental level. He said transparency, timeliness and coordination must be ensured at every stage so that employment opportunities can be made available to youth quickly while strengthening service delivery across government departments.
The meeting was attended virtually by Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries of various departments, and senior officials from the Rajasthan Public Service Commission and the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board.
