Deputy Chief Minister Inaugurates ‘Rajmata Jijau’ Bus Service
Baramati, June 2026: Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar inaugurated ten newly inducted state-of-the-art “Rajmata Jijau” smart buses at the Baramati bus depot and called upon the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) to prioritize passenger convenience, safety, and grievance redressal.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Pawar said that late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had always given high priority to infrastructure development in Baramati taluka. She noted that the Baramati bus station, which has emerged as a model transport facility in the country, is one such example of his vision and commitment to public infrastructure.
The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that the State Transport Corporation should focus on maintaining cleanliness in buses and bus station premises, ensuring punctual bus services, safeguarding passengers, and effectively addressing their concerns and problems.
Mrs. Pawar was speaking at a felicitation programme organized for officers and employees of the State Transport Corporation at the Baramati bus station after it secured the top position in the “Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Clean and Beautiful Bus Station Campaign 2025.”
The event was attended by Baramati Municipal Council President Sachin Satav, Sub-Divisional Officer Uttam Dighe, Baramati MIDC Regional Officer Hanumant Patil, Pune Division Controller of MSRTC Arun Siya, Group Development Officer Kishor Mane, Municipal Chief Officer Pankaj Bhuse, Divisional Labour Officer Sachin Bhujbal, Depot Manager Pravin Shinde, former Assistant Transport Superintendent Ghanshyam Sadashiv Shinde, along with employees of the corporation, union representatives, and local public representatives.
Congratulating the officials and staff of the Baramati bus station, Mrs. Pawar highlighted that the depot had received first prize in the statewide cleanliness campaign. As part of the award, the Baramati bus station was presented with a cash prize of ₹1 crore and a commemorative trophy at a function held in Mumbai.
She said that numerous development projects had been completed in Baramati due to the foresight and leadership of late Ajit Pawar. Stressing the need to preserve and maintain these achievements, she urged citizens and officials to continue striving to keep Baramati at the forefront of development.
“The bus station, which was conceived through the vision of late Ajit Pawar, receiving the state’s top award is a matter of immense pride for every resident of Baramati. This achievement has added another feather to the town’s cap,” she said.
Mrs. Pawar added that the recognition also brings greater responsibility for citizens to maintain the standards that have earned Baramati this distinction. She noted that the award reflects the collective efforts of the transport corporation’s officers and employees as well as the cooperation of local residents.
The Deputy Chief Minister congratulated the people of Baramati and the officials and staff of the State Transport Corporation for the historic achievement. She expressed confidence that the newly launched “Rajmata Jijau” smart buses and the award-winning bus station would further enhance passenger services and strengthen Baramati’s reputation as a model transport hub in Maharashtra.
The inauguration of the modern bus fleet and the recognition received by the bus station underline the government’s commitment to improving public transport infrastructure while ensuring high standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and passenger satisfaction.
