He Who Has Ram in His Heart is Truly Great: Rambhadracharya
Seventh Day of Shri Ram Katha Highlights the Glory of Devotion Through the Kevat Episode
Lucknow, June 2026 : Padma Vibhushan awardee and Tulsi Peeth head, Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya, while narrating the Kevat episode on the seventh day of the ongoing Shri Ram Katha, said that there is no concept of high or low status in the Vedas, epics, Puranas, or sacred scriptures of India. According to Indian culture, a person without Lord Ram in his heart is insignificant, while one who carries Ram in his heart is truly great.
Addressing devotees at the Shri Ram Katha being held at the Brij Ki Rasoi premises on Sitapur Road, he said that devotion (bhakti) is greater than liberation (mukti) and even superior to salvation (moksha). He explained that demons such as Ravana, Kansa, and Shishupala attained moksha, but they never received the blessing of true devotion.

Elaborating on Padasevan Bhakti (devotional service at the Lord’s feet), Rambhadracharya said, “Devotion is like the Ganga, knowledge is the boat, and the learned person is the boatman. When one attains devotion to Lord Ram, Brahman itself resides upon knowledge.” His spiritual discourse deeply moved the audience.
The revered saint also rendered devotional hymns such as “Aawa Ho More Naav Ke Khewaiya” and “Raghav Tum Bin Sooni Mori Naiya,” immersing the gathering in devotion. The entire venue resonated with spiritual fervour as devotees swayed and sang along with the bhajans.
Speaking about Lucknow’s heritage, he said that the city was founded by Lord Lakshman and later beautified by Lakhan Pasi, whose name, he noted, was derived from Lakshman. Referring to the Lakshman Tila issue, he remarked that he would visit the site only when a grand temple dedicated to Lord Lakshman is built there.
Rambhadracharya emphasized that he was not opposed to anyone and believed in the principle of coexistence. However, he asserted that those living in India should respect the nation and its cultural identity. “If one wishes to live in India, one should say ‘Vande Mataram’ and sing the national song,” he said.
He further stated, “Be devoted to Raghubar, not to Babur or Akbar.” Stressing the importance of national pride, he said that all residents of India should honour the nation and its civilizational heritage.
The spiritual leader also called for strengthening society rather than pursuing appeasement. “We should talk about empowerment, not appeasement,” he said, while urging people to learn Sanskrit in order to preserve India’s culture and Sanatan values.
At the beginning of the discourse, Tulsi Peeth Acharya Ramchandra Das delivered the invocation prayer. Several prominent personalities sought blessings from the Vyas Peeth during the event, including Uttar Pradesh Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, senior BJP leader Neeraj Singh, BJP state office in-charge Bharat Dixit, UP Backward Classes Commission member Lakshman Choudhary, Justice Anil Kumar, senior advocate Pranshu Agrawal, and Anjaneya Peethadheeshwar Swami Ramanujacharya.
Before the discourse commenced, MLA Dr. Neeraj Bora honoured volunteers, members of the social media team, and influencers associated with the event. He expressed gratitude to organisations including Shri Shyam Parivar, Marwari Yuva Manch, Civil Defence, Bora Foundation, International Vaishya Federation, and Utsav Sanstha, stating that their contribution had been instrumental in successfully managing the event attended by thousands of devotees.
Media in-charge Dr. S.K. Gopal informed that the eighth day of the Shri Ram Katha will begin at 5 p.m. on Monday, while the concluding session on Tuesday will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by a community feast (Bhandara) in the afternoon.
